La Belle Epoque — Restaurant in Spa

Well... We arrived at 19:00 and the restaurant was quite empty, when we walked in, we got immediately placed in first row close to the entrance door, so pretty cold. Thankfully we had a very powerful electric stove warming our legs up, not. Their welcoming sentence was: today you have to order 2 courses, obligatory. Ok fantastic, thanks for such a warm welcome. I get that it's their concept, just don't make that your first sentence to a client. When we asked for some extra time to think about the dessert, their answer was simply "no, you decide now", haha ok then. One of the only places where you have to decide main course and desserts together.. how do I know how I feel after a main course? anyhow... 90euros total for 2 ppl.. did not think the quality matched the price. In hindsight it's better to spend 30 euros more, and eat much MUCH better somewhere else. The food wasn't that bad.. but the interaction with us was soooo below par, it kind of set the whole experience off for us, would not recommend, I just did not feel welcome at all, but that's just us...

I have to admit that matters are sorted after some discussion. However, sadly our diner was far from a nice experience.

18.30 entered the restaurant and ordered first, only to receive our main course at 20.15 when we were already leaving because we had a baby with us. In between we received the wrong starter (at 19.00). Could be a one of those nights where everything goes wrong. However, a raging chef is not what you expect when you as a customer are not in the wrong. The waitress was still very nice tough and we ended paying only for our drinks. So we left with an empty stomach since the chef refused the offer of the waitress to give the food take away. Btw all around us seven tables received their main course while entering up to an hour later. Even with the fish dishes we were...

Our visit to Restaurant La Belle Epoque was a mix of moments that showcased both the highs and lows of dining out. While the service initially fell short, requiring us to request additional drinks, the prompt attention to our concerns regarding the tough Chateaubriand truly exemplified the care and dedication of the staff. The swift replacement with another steak demonstrated a commitment to ensuring a memorable dining experience.

In the end, La Belle Epoque succeeded in transforming what could have been a disappointing visit into a delightful one.
