Brasserie Tamboerke, — Restaurant in Turnhout

Came for Saturday date with a friend. And 1 old woman, offered us the long table next to the bar, which was ok. We ordered few drinks and one snacks for sharing, since we were still not hungry. So my friend and I asked the old woman for small extra plate, so we could eat properly. But unfortunately she didn’t give us the plate. Because she said, it’s only 1 plate per order. And then she walked away from our table with such an unfriendly face 😏. What a poor service really 👎! Even the couple the next to our table, wasn’t so happy how she responded to us. Can’t recommend this place to any of my friends 👎. Never...

The owner is not a nice person. I feel sad for the staff working there because they try to make up for their boss' lack of empathy and respect towards their clients.

The food was ok at best, the drinks were decent. But the place in itself is dirty and messy (dead bugs and hair on the tables..).

There are way better restaurants/bars on the Grote Markt. I would avoid this place if you wanna enjoy...

This was a lovely surprise. Whilst in the area on business the hotel concierge recommended this little bistro to us and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The prawns in garlic were outstanding, the steak main course was done to perfection the wine served was paired beautifully.
