Where to begin? The only reason I left 1 star is because the drinks were good and the owner was friendly. The beef for the meat fondue came unseasoned, a far cry from the salt and garlic seasoned meat they had in the past. I would rate the desserts, but nobody came over to ask if we wanted any. From 10:05 pm to 10:40 pm, we sat there and waited for someone to walk over to the table, but nobody came. I would have walked out without paying because nobody seemed interested in bringing us a bill either, but my girlfriend convinced me to go find the owner and ask for the bill. Never in my entire life have I encountered such garbage service before.
I STRONGLY suggest you find somewhere else to eat, Brussels is full of excellent choices where you're not made to feel like a burden on the restaurant.
Editing to reply to the owner;
First, sauces and seasoning are two different things. The beef was not bad, it was simply unseasoned. That is simply the truth. The sauces were delicious, the fries and the salad were great too. But the beef is not seasoned, this is a fact.
Second, we asked for more meat because this was the only food that we had. We were only ever given a drink menu. Again, the meat was not bad and nowhere did I say it was bad. The meat fondue is expressly made to be "all you can eat", no? We asked for one additional portion of beef and one additional portion of salad. The salad was great, the beef was good; undeniably unseasoned, but good.
Third, we stayed because we were waiting for someone to come up and offer dessert, or at least ask if we were ready for the bill; this is the custom across the entire globe, is it not? We would have left earlier if it was possible; I had to go and ask YOU for the bill after the chef had already left and the waitress had finished cleaning everything. We were sitting in plain view of the waitress the entire time, and she made sure to do everything possible to close the place without giving us the bill or asking if we were finished. If you guys wanted us to leave, you could have given us the bill earlier.
Fourth, I left a 2 euro tip, one for each of the homemade shots you gave us at the end of our stay. I do not regret the tip, because the shots were good. As I said before, the drinks were good.
This review is based entirely on the last 40 minutes of our stay. I haven't said a word that wasn't 100% accurate. Harsh? Yes, the review is harsh, because the quality of the service for the last 40 minutes we were there is the level of service I would expect from a drunk homeless man, not a restaurant, let alone a restaurant which seems to want to hold itself to a high standard.
Changed it to 2 stars to reflect that we didn't think the food was bad, just that the service was,...
Read moreThis is a pure gem! Third time here and once again what a joy! I don’t know where to start… So as soon as you walk in you have the feeling that it’s going to be a good time and boy it is! We had the garlic shrimp as a starter, the butter they can in was delicious and well seasoned and then, following the recommendation of the owner - who might be one of the nicest restaurateurs I’ve EVER met - we had the meat fondue. The quality of the beef was stunning, I think we must have eaten half of it raw, the sauces that come with: curry, spicy, garlic and cocktail are wonderful, the salad is good and the fries are fresh and that makes all the difference! I think we also had the best Irish coffee that has ever been made! The service was on point, smiley, professional, interesting and interested - we had a big chat with the owner who talked us through our choices and who gives excellent advice! All in all I would DEFINITELY recommend going here if you want a good time and...
