We spent three nights here. It wasn’t bad but I would not stay again. It is very misrepresented compared to the photos on Google. The booking description also said there was a lounge, which is not the case. There was a big lounge but it was filled with sofas that were being shipped, and the rest of the time for some sort of dancing classes with music that we could hear up to the highest floor. The lounge was not at all for hotel guests so you can either sit in the room or go somewhere outside. The description also said bilingual staff- not the case, only French upon arrival. I can live with that but if you run a hotel you need to at least know a few words in English.
Room - it was very spacious but very dated and one window was so dirty you could not see through it at all. We were asked the first morning if we wanted our room cleaned, to which we said yes, but nobody came. It said to leave towels on the floor if you wanted new ones but they weren’t changed the whole time.
Breakfast - 2 out of 3 mornings the croissants were all gone, some guests didn’t get any and they do not refill what’s empty. Even though we got there for 9am and breakfast is until 11. One morning all the cheese/ham was gone and also not refilled, even after asking. There is so little selection you could then maybe have a bread roll with jam, but that’s it. Not much choice at all. Rolls had so many bubbles, they looked microwaved.
Parking - it’s a blue zone, which means Monday to Saturday you can park up to 2h with a parking badge but then you have to move the car. After 18.00 or on Sundays it’s free.
Location - nice areas to explore within walking distance. To explore city centre I’d recommend going to a free park and ride (Delta) and take public transport.
Overall, it seems like maybe this used to be a nice hotel but now just a small part of the building gets used and they spend the bare minimum. Things like shampoo etc you get mixed brands random old-looking products that look like free samples. Breakfast is so basic, I would not pay for that again. The staff were friendly but it doesn’t make up for the lack of...
Read moreI did my marriage reception in Repos des Chasseur and it was just perfect. Everybody loved the food and the cake, they were particular enough to be special, but adapted to the taste of multiple people, which was not easy given that we had 11 different nationalities at our marriage (we had coffrette d'aubergines, paccheri avec cepes and truffe, magret de canard et gateau creme et fruits frais) We had the hall on the first floor on the back which suited perfectly about 80 people, I am sure we could have fitted at leat 100 if needed. The hall is not too big so people stay close and the party is warmer, but not too small to be crammed. There is a very nice terrace surrounded by woods (la foret de soignes) which was great to get some air and to have nice group pictures wth green background. There are 2 different spaces, one for the dinner and one for the reception / dancing evening which is nice to separate the different moments of the party. The dinner room is devided in two, but it is really not noticeable once they are full with people. The staff was very professional, flexible and prepared. Due to a storm, we arrived 1h in advance at the restaurant, despite this they were able to welcome us and promptly started serving drinks. They also had a good rithm in in serving dinner, so we were not for too long sitting at the tables and everyone had fun. Finally the location is very comfortably located in a quiet corner of Brussels, so you get the quiteness of the coutryside, but it is really easy to reach from the city center if you do your cerimony there. We have foreigners families and nobody had to rent a car which made it so much easier and sustainable. The establishment is also a hotel, you actually get a room offered which is perfect if you have elderly guests who may need to rest at some point. Finally the price is really convenient, this was actually the cheapest place i could find in Brussels and it was by far superior to many more expensive locations. I had a perfect marriage and le Repos de Chasseurs definitely enabled it, super-...
Read moreI'm a regular hotel visitor and business brought me to this part of Brussels. There were few options but next time I will stay further away and commute here, because this hotel is not going to be a future option.||||It was built in the 80s and remains solidly there.||||I arrived late, circa midnight and there was nobody there, I had to call a number and the night porter appeared a few minutes later. ||||The room didn't have wifi, though there was a router there, unplugged.||||Two bulbs didn't work in the room,.||||The room was cold.||||I was in Room 11 on the third floor. There are no lifts. The hotel was empty bar one other guest. Perhaps i could have been lower down?||||The shampoo in the shower came in a sachet, the likes of which I thought stopped being produced 20 years ago.||||The breakfast buffet was minimalist. Because we were two guests there were two place settings set and two criossants, two pan o'choclat, two slices of white bread, two packets of butter etc. You know, you could put out 100 butters, I'm not here to steal Belgiums butter. I understand frugality around the fresh items (or maybe it is a competition - first one down to breakfast gets all the criossants) but not around the packaged long-life items.||||Yoghurts...
