What a disappointing experience at Le Brasero. We walk past this restaurant almost every day and the beautiful dishes on the menu hanging outside made us curious. On the internet we read a nice description on the Guide Michelin website and the reviews on Google were positive. We came to eat with four people on the occasion of my birthday. The service made mistakes from the beginning. We had time and indicated to the service that we would like breaks between courses and if we ran out of water they could bring a new bottle immediately (without asking). The wine we selected was nice and good and the first course was promising. Wonderful beautifully served appetizers and the flavors were in harmony. Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill. Apparently the communication between the kitchen and service was not good, because as soon as we finished the first course, the main course was served immediately. Both my daughter and I had ordered the duck breast fillet (pink). Our dishes had been under the heat lamp for too long, were overcooked and the edges of the meat curled up and dried out. This should never have been served this way. After our comment, the plates were taken away and it was prepared again. My husband and son-in-law did have their main courses in front of them and so were forced to start their dishes already and then were almost done when our duck breast came again. The ten minutes it would takeas been told were more...the side dishes were unfortunately no longer appetizing. The haricot verts were now pulp and some half black. No new plates had been made up, too bad. We had to ask for water every time and even after the wine had run out, the attention, of the waitress leaning in the doorway, really had to be drawn to have a new bottle opened. When clearing up, we were asked if it was to our liking. My comment that it was fine in second but that I was sorry how this course had gone was not responded to. I would have thought a drink or other compensation such as coffee on the house would have been appropriate. By the way, my son-in-law's lamb rack was superbly prepared and my husband's fish was also nice. Immediately we were asked if we wanted dessert, even though the second bottle of wine was not yet finished and our glasses were still half full. When my husband asked for advice on an appropriate dessert wine to go with his chosen dessert when ordering dessert, it could not be given. The dessert, by the way, tasted excellent. Le service est devenu hautain et la pression vous est mise dès l'entrée dans le restaurant. Pas de sourire, un gâteau d'anniversaire qui ne correspondait pas à ma demande, compact et bien trop lourd à digérer après un repas, expédié à table en 30 secondes top chrono et un regard un peu de travers lorsque nous entammons un ''bon anniversaire'' chanté gentiment à l'arrivée du gâteau. Une remarque déplacée concernant le fait que tout le monde n'a pas 'terminé' son morceau......c'est vexant. Une bouteille de bon vin (là il faut admettre que nous avons été bien conseillés) qui reste sur le comptoir au lieu de nous la laisser sur table, étonnant...c'est dans les restaurants très haut de gamme qu'on fait ça. Rien à dire sur la nourriture, si ce n'est que nous voulions prendre une portion de salade en supplément mais le serveur nous répond : "c'est une grosse salade, ça ne sera pas nécessaire" Qui décide et puis surtout, qui paie ? Le client, nous sommes bien d'accord. ...Conclusion : trop de bruit, trop de stress et de pression et l'impression que l'établissement veut être reconnu 'haut de gamme' alors que ce n'est pas le cas.
