I first visited Smokeez about a year ago when I was invited by my wife's friend. Since then I've been back a couple times under the same circumstance, except for today. Today I chose to bring MY friend to Smokeez instead.
We were looking for a "chill" spot to grab a quick lunch, and Smokeez did not disappoint. There were a few patrons, the music was subtle and the sea breeze was just right.
The restaurant sits right over the edge of the seawall, and you really get to enjoy the seaside with minimal signs of being in the city. The neighborhood "Buttonwood Bay", is know for tranquility and being safe, so if that is a concern for you, you can rest easy.
The food has always been very consistent and our lunch took about 10mins from the time we ordered to it being on the table in front of us. Portion sizes are satisfactory and the prices are pretty decent, even for a local like me. There isn't a lot of "flare" with food presentation, but for me, less is more.
The server could have checked on us a little more, but not complaining. I'm just saying...since they weren't that busy, checking in should have been on the "to do" list since our cups were empty for approximately 15mins.
The staff was very courteous, and I have no complaints about the service otherwise.
I apologize for not posting pictures. I do my best to enjoy my experiences while I'm out, which means keeping the phone in my pocket. The next time your in the neighborhood, remember that Smokeez is definitely a restaurant to consider having a quick bite or a few drinks...

Read moreIndeterminate about revisiting. While the atmosphere was really nice, the waiter tonight was not on par. He forgot to place our order with kitchen. When asked as to why we haven't received our food, after an hour waiting, he pretended that he was not the one assigned to our table. The order was not complicated, it was just a regular plate of nachos. I've been to many other restaurants before and have had much more complex dishes come out faster, on busier nights ,staffed with less personel.I have dinned previously with Smokeez and I was pleased enough to return. It is on my first visit that I can give a rating in the food. Tonight I ultimately didn't get any food as it had reached 1.5 hrs of waiting, which is very much unacceptable. I got up and just paid for my drinks. Based on this return visit tonight I'm doubtful about a subsequent return. I'd rather not have to roll the dice on wether or not food will arrive on a decent time. Will I return? I'll have to roll the dice...
