We stayed at the hotel at Hodes for one night. Such a pleasant surprise. You’re right in town but the hotel is located in the orchard behind the restaurant so you feel like you’re in nature. It was very clean, good size, great A/C, cable, wifi, hot water, mini-fridge, comfortable beds and pillows. Having the restaurant right there was super convenient for food and drinks. We ordered beers at check-in and they delivered them to our room within 5 minutes. As another review mentioned, we liked being able to park our vehicle very close to our room so it was easy to get our bags in and out and keep an eye on the vehicle. You’re also away from the noise of the road and any loud bars around, which can be a problem if you stay in one of the hotels right downtown. And the price was very reasonable. I will definitely stay again and certainly will recommend to other travellers coming...
Read moreI've been to Hode's many times. They've been around for a long time. They're one of the only places that don't mind you bringing your pet since their dining space is open. You really can't go wrong here. Their service is great and the place is beautiful.

One other dish I really love is their chips and dip. I always order this...well almost always order. I also love their buffalo chicken stripes. My parents usually order pork chops and steaks.
Other times, we get deliveries (at least once or twice a week) and they do take a bit long but since we order many times, they always know where to deliver to. Plus, deliveries is...

How do you screw up garlic chicken strips with garlic bread and fries? The garlic bread was made from a hamburger bun and was oozing grease as were the fries, making them both soggy and therefore difficult, if not most unpleasant to eat. So I left most of them and focussed on the chicken strips. The chicken found inside of the excess grease was okay, so I ate most, but only cause I was very very hungry. There are much better places to eat in San Ignacio. It is a shame they bring all the tourist buses here. If you somehow find yourself here at Hodes Place I suggest you try to pick something from the menu that is...
