We did not enjoy the food. We were sat at a table but then moved to a smaller corner table when it opened up. The staff didn't clean our table well, just wiped it quickly with a sopping wet rag that left it still very well and sticky. We ordered one of the most popular dishes on the board, it was a curry and we also ordered the fish sandwich. Both were very disappointing. The fish sandwich was nothing special, didn't taste seasoned. The fish wasn't hot and the bun wasn't toasted. The curry was not what we expected as it was labelled as one of their most popular/favourite dishes. The curry wasn't flavourful, the chicken was so dry and they gave us mashed potatoes instead of the coconut rice we ordered. When they returned the dish the coconut rice was the worst I've ever tasted. It barely had any coconut flavour and the rice was very mushy and overcooked it seemed. We probably ate half and didn't even finish the rest even though we were still hungry since it was just not edible. We were shocked since this place was highly recommended and loved by locals. We regretted trying this place and wished we had gone back to other restaurants we had tried and loved instead as this was the worst meal...

My husband and I went here for dinner tonight with high expectations and were super impressed! First, the staff is extremely friendly and the service is noticeably faster than other restaurants in Belize. We went early and were able to get a table immediately, but I'm told that going any time after 5 PM generally means a wait due to its well-deserved popularity. I ordered an iced tea and the lamb liver with mashed potatoes and a green salad. I love liver, but it's easy to get wrong. Ko-Ox Han-Nah does it perfectly! The liver was flavorful, tender, and delicious. It paired perfectly with the potatoes. I got Caesar dressing for my salad- I don't know if the dressings are made in-house, but this dressing was phenomenal! I also liked the shredded beets and carrots on the salad. My husband got the Thai-style chicken and, while he said it was very different from Thai food we've had in the US and in Thailand, he also really enjoyed it. He had coconut rice on the side and liked that, too. Basically every travel video we watched before coming and every Belizean we've interacted with recommended this restaurant and it's...

I went with my husband and two kids on a Friday night. We got there around 6:30 and got the last table. Service was brisk which I understand because they were busy. My husband and I each had a rum drink which were both very good. My kids ordered a watermelon juice and an orange juice. The watermelon juice had an odd flavor. No one drank it. I ordered the chicken, rice and beans and my husband had the coconut shrimp soup and pork tacos. The food took a very long time to come out which we have found to be the norm in general in Belize. My dish was good. Nothing spectacular but good. My husband's soup was excellent as we're the tacos. We had to send the tacos back because they made them wrong (we asked for no pico because my husband had a tomato allergy). They obviously out the pico on, realized the mistake then took it off. When we told our server she started to argue with us until we showed her the tomato. She then brought out a new order. Overall it was good, not great. I'd go back and try...

This place is always crowded and it's not easy to get a table. I arrived and waited for about 30 minutes before I got a table. This place is recommended both by locals and tourists alike, so its like a mecca to visit in San Ignacio. I was given the menu while waiting, so I could decide on what I wanted to eat and place my order and food would be served faster once I got a table. I was quite interested in having seafood for dinner and I asked for recommendations and the staff told me that the Shrimp Curry is a favourite. I followed her recommendation and also had an Iced Tea. The Shrimp Curry was indeed nice and the gravy helped in finishing the rice. I also loved how fragrant the coconut rice was and good was the combination of the rice and the gravy. It wasn't spicy and there were quite a lot of shrimps inside. Portion was big though, I had planned to order desserts but had to surrender because I was too full. Since its a mecca, I definitely recommend people to try it out when in San Ignacio.

We had an amazing lunch here today! I am vegetarian, and after discussing with the waitress ordered 4 sides, none of which are cooked with meat -- rice and beans, Chaya, plantains, and coleslaw. All 4 were EXCELLENT! My carnivore husband enjoyed the lamb liver, streamed veggies, and baked potato. The fresh lime juice was also delicious! The prices were very reasonable, especially compared to a similar meal in the states. Definitely recommend and I hope to return! Edited to add: we decided to come back again for lunch and were not disappointed!! The vegetable soup was absolutely amazing with huge pieces fresh veggies that were cooked perfectly! It came with a delicious homemade tortilla. My husband had the pork tacos and stuffed jalapenos and said those were also amazing. Definitely eat here if you can!

They served awesome LAMB STEAK!!! And any kind of the soups with coconut milk were greatly delicious! I liked the chaya rice the most. It was not that like the rice style in Belize City however I preferred their chaya rice more! I tried some restaurants in San Ignacio, and the KO-OX-HAN-NAH absolutely could be the best one in the town! It worths coming everyday. Besides, the ladies to serve you here were so lovely and cheerful. I felt they really paid attention on what you wanted, and remembered your preference. The nostalgic space was not very large but the experience here was so satisfying my stomach and heart! I gave 5 stars without doubt.
