Somewhat underwhelming. The waitress was good, but the gaggle of people milling around nearby that are somehow related to management gave the place an unprofessional air. I ordered the daily whiteboard special: pig tail, white rice and beans. It met that description, and was ok; however, I suspect that i could have ordered a similar dish elsewhere for a fraction of the price. The soursop juice - one of my favourites - wasn't great. The table nearby - two adults and a teenage daughter - fared worse: the two lots of toasted sandwiches and one order of pancakes looked particularly ordinary and, talking among themselves, the three of them clearly felt likewise. I arrived at 6 but they weren't ready, the staff was still cleaning and moving some stuff while she passed me the menu. I heard about something interesting which I wanted to try, the Chaya. Its the Mexican Spinach which can be added into the omelette and heard it has a lot of health benefits. Took a while for breakfast to arrive but it smelled so good I started gorging. The taste of the chaya and the eggs tasted good and I added it inside the fry jacks. Totally loved the combination of that. The fry jacks were very well fried and hot. Managed to have some time still before the tour pickup. Met my expectations of a good and proper breakfast and...
Read moreThis is one for the breakfast lovers of the world with all day serving of breakfast. Medium sized location on a somewhat busy street in San Ignacio. Inside atmosphere is nothing to brag about but the food makes up for that. Breakfast food is on point. I tried salsa on eggs with flour tortilla on the bottom along with sausage. Mixture of spicy salsa and eggs with tortilla was perfect with every bite. Tourists have to try the "fried jack" aka the american doughnut.
While at the restaurant we ended up meeting Pops, the owner of the restaurant. He stated that all his kids work here and are involved with the family restaurant. Tourist or local, check this place out
