Firstly, the location of this restaurant is fabulous. They have a large deck right on the water with umbrellas and a beautiful view.
When you arrive, the atmosphere of the restaurant seems to be higher end. The wait staff has an air of "I'm really busy but I guess I'll inconvenience myself for you for one second." The tables are white clothed. The prices are high, even for St. George ($35 on average for a dinner plate). The location is beautiful. We had a lovely bottle of Tem
And then, the food arrives and you realize it's a cheap Sizzler in a fancy French restaurant wrapper. This would be ok for St. George if the wait staff wasn't so terrible at their job. We ordered a bottle of wine for a table of two, so you would think our waiter would pay a bit of attention. Instead, after he poured the bottle and we ordered our appetizer, he made it a point to huffily tell us that it was "really busy" so he'd prefer if we would order everything right then. There were about 20 tables total in the restaurant, and at least 5 wait staff I saw. I've worked as wait staff in a restaurant, and that's not busy. He had the "hurry up" face on the whole time we ordered.
And the food.
Bread. My BF called them "bread rations" because the focaccia was dry and brittle and a day old. The butter came in little plastic single serves, which is fine, except one was yellow oil. It had melted completely and then reconstituted. We did not eat that one.
We had the mussels for an appetizer. They were NOT fresh, and tasted frozen. Anyone who knows seafood will know exactly what I mean when I say they tasted frozen. On the plus side, the marinara they came in was flavorful and pretty good. But couldn't make up for the frozen taste. Over $17.
Rockfish. The rockfish was fresh, which was the best thing about it. It was breaded, which is a shame for a flakey lovely fish like rockfish. The vegetables were not over or undercooked but were totally flavorless. $38 or so.
Wahoo. So dry and overlooked it looked and tasted like chicken. They took the freshest seafood they have available on the island and totally ruined it. The baked potato came foil wrapped. Like at Sizzler's....

Read moreABSOLUTELY UNBEARABLE SERVICE! We had a reservation and had to wait a full 20 minutes before someone finally handed us a menu. After another 15 minutes, a waiter finally came to take our drink order, and then immediately disappeared. By the time our drinks arrived, we were seriously considering leaving, as this waiter vanished again instead of taking our food order. Every single part of the ordering process dragged on so long that the kitchen had already closed by the time we got our food. The food was good, but thanks to this atrocious service, we will NEVER set foot in this place again!
To make matters worse, the staff showed no sense of urgency or concern for their customers. They were slow, inattentive, and completely indifferent to the fact that we were waiting endlessly. It was as if our presence was a bother to them. We were left sitting there, ignored and frustrated, while other tables who arrived later were served more promptly. This level of neglect and disorganization is absolutely unacceptable.
The final straw was when we tried to express our dissatisfaction to the management, and they brushed off our complaints without any apology or attempt to make amends. This place clearly has no respect for its customers and no understanding of basic hospitality. Avoid this establishment...
