Very Cool! I think its technically not open to the public but there were no signs saying we couldn't be there. There was a lot of trash everywhere as we were walking up to the entrance, our speculation (not sure if its true) is that it costs money to dispose of larger trash items and rather than pay that cost the locals dump it in remote areas. But I posted some pictures of the trash (not attached to this review). Anyways, the fort is very cool. Very abandoned and a little scary to walk around but we went during daylight. There are definitely rooms that would require a flash light to explore but some areas did not feel safe. The old battery from 1942 entrance had been sealed off but it looked like people had broken through the cinder blocks. I might have gone into the battery had I had a flash light.
