Walking towards this place you're lured into thinking that this is going to be one of those mediocre eating experiences, more akin to getting something basic to fill your stomach. WRONG!!! Munchies is much more than basic....it's an eating experience that awakens the tastebuds in a way like raising a mummy from the dead. The difference from the start of my experience is the personal touch and attention of the owner ensuring that patrons get the experience that they deserve. The friendly greeting, the quaint but airy atmosphere, the water views, and even the vibrant color palette all blends together to remind you that you're on an island, hundreds of miles from nowhere and possibly thousands of miles from your own personal troubles. The ordering experience was one where you could see that they were thankful for the business as the welcoming smiles and attention to detail made the process quick and a pleasure to go through. I had a fish sandwich, fries, and a fried apple pie, all relatively basic fare in Bermuda as almost all restaurants offer at least a fish sandwich; however, the tastes that I experienced were worthy of the ,"Slap yo momma," rhetoric that makes you think and rave about your experience to others. It reminds me of the 'Black horse' days for those who know..if YOU don't, find someone with gray hair that most likely does, they'll fill you in. Anyway, try them out guys, you won't be sorry about it, as a matter of fact you'll probably feel the same as I do as I leave Bermuda for my now semi permanent home on Maryland.....I'll be returning and the first thing I'll have when I do is a case of...
Read moreThe place itself is cute and quaint and you can see the fish in the water, which I like to do. But the service was terrible. I would not recommend anyone going there. I was there on May 7th for dinner with two friends. We went to the order window and the woman there was not friendly at all. She seemed annoyed that we were even there ordering. When I tried to order a cheeseburger she said you were out of hamburger. No miscommunication. She definitely said you had no hamburger. The credit card machine was supposedly not working so we had to pay cash. Luckily we all brought cash with us. The food that we ordered was more expensive than the cheeseburger I wanted but it tasted okay. Sitting outside looking at the fish was nice too. But we did not have a good time because of the treatment from the only person who seemed to work there. Overall, it was a...
Read moreWe went there on Tuesday, May 7th. I had read several reviews before going and was excited to try it. I'm sorry we were disappointed by the service.
It's a small place where you walk up to a window and order your food. The woman at the window wasn't friendly at all and my friends and I felt like we were disturbing her. All we wanted was some burgers, but we were told they were out. What kind of restaurant runs out of burgers? It's wasn't even busy. So we had to order something else more expensive. When we went to pay she told us none of our credit cards worked so we had to pay in cash. Luckily we all had some. The food was good and the view we had while eating was nice, but that's all I can say nice...
