We visited Bermuda during the second week of January. We frequented this restaurant several times during our week long stay. We stayed in downtime St. Georges on Fort George Hill and it was a short walk to this Bar/Restaurant. I don't want to admit this as a Green Bay Packers fan, but we were able to watch the Philadelphia Eagles game on the big screen with sound, Go Packers! Our favorite bar tender was Chris (I think his name was Chris, i can't remember). He went out of his way to make out trip memorable. We had been discussing with him where we could get some local lobster to cook a Surf & Turn meal one night. He mentioned to us a guy who sold spiny lobster on the side of the road on Friday mornings outside of Hamilton. He recognized we would have difficulty trying to get there and he offered to pick up three spiny lobsters for us! He didn't even ask for money ahead of time. Man were those lobsters big!!! I will say he was the ONLY good bar tender at the restaurant. The rest of them often were looking on their phones not even behind the bar and were not paying attention to get our orders. We had none of these issues when Chris was there. Speaking of the food, it was good bar food. The pizzas were good, the wings were good and the...
Read moreWe visited on 9/18/2023 and it was completely awful! The restaurant was dirty, our table was dirty and the food was outrageously expensive. $25 for a hamburger! I ordered an apple/walnut salad and could not eat it because all of the romaine was brown. I don't know how long the lettuce sat in the kitchen, but it could not be consume. They had the nerve to charge for me it after I complained and left a pile of brown leaves on the table next to the bowl. I refused to pay for the worst salad I have ever been served. Shame on the chef for sending it out looking like that to begin with! After speaking with locals and so many others, this is not a good place to eat and avoided by locals who know better. Tourists such as ourselves were duped, but I would never return and urge others to stay away! Also, this is NOT handicap accessible by any means. Half the bricks are missing in the floor and impossible to get in and out of the doorway. I have to park my mobility scooter and hobble in and out...
Read moreWe were originally heading for Wahoo's but the wait was far too long for an outside seat, so redirected to the White Horse. They managed to sit our group of 5 during a busy May Saturday, outside as requested, within approx 5-10 min. Pretty classic Bermuda lunch fare options w/ several British pub standards on the menu as well. Food is pretty tasty, as are the drinks, but not particularly memorable. The best part of the meal (and what made me return) was definitely sitting outside on the patio, up against the railing, and feeding the fish bread scraps and french fries. (This feels super wrong, but apparently these fish love french fries!) Some of the largest parrot fish I've ever seen and they were all practically on the surface showing off their colors as our free lunchtime...
