If you are visiting Bermuda for the first time, we thank you. If you'd like an honest review of the St. George's area, please read on.
Personally, the loss of the "Art Mel's Spicy Dicy" and the lack of variety in tourist attractions have brought it down a few notches in my book. This is namely due to a lack of infrastructure and overall investment. However, there are a couple places that stand the test of time.
The first, and arguably the best reason to visit is the "Unfinished Church". It is a gorgeous specimen of the old Gothic-style cathedrals located just off the beaten path. On your way there you should make it a point to pass by "Shinbone Alley" and take some goofy pictures of yourself pointing at parts of your anatomy.
The "Barracuda Grill Seafood & Chops" is a good place to eat if you enjoy a "sit down". I used to enjoy the "White Horse Pub & Restaurant" years ago but the quality has gone down several pegs... Of course, if you enjoy hoards if pigeons aggravating you while you eat, be my guest...

Read moreYou can swim in the harbor by the bridge and the cannon. It is awesome! We jumped off the concrete dock, we dove off the bridge railing, we swam to the other side of the harbor, climbed the stairs, jumped off and swam back. There are stairs to help you out of the water all along the wall on both sides. And the water is beautiful, clean, clear and a great temperature. There are also public restrooms to change in. One is putting the town drunk in the stockade, another is dunking the town nag. Both were entertaining. There are restaurants, bars and local shopping opportunities within a few steps of the square.
