Terrible dining experience! The staff needs training. I hate to leave a bad review for a place with such great food but his review is warranted. While having dinner here recently my wife noticed a street person approach the front entrance of the restaurant. He was pushing a shopping cart filled with bags, bottles, etc. and was very loudly talking to himself. As he got within a few feet of our table, the seating area is open to the street, he pulled a glass bottle from his cart and threw it across the street. He then walked to within 3-4 feet of our table and began loudly yelling at my wife in Portuguese. We do not speak Portuguese so we don’t know what he was saying, only that he was very loud and aggressive in his demeanor. At this point a female staff member approached our table and explained that the man wanted money. She did not ask the man to leave, or to even lower his voice, she actually asked us if we wanted to give him some money. Feeling that giving him money would only encourage his behavior we declined to give him any money. The man continued to aggressively yell at us, for 2-3 minutes, while the staff watched from a distance. When he finally left us alone, he walked from table to table, dragging a trash bag full of garbage loudly demanding money from all of the customers. At one point he followed a man and woman from the restaurant, yelling at them as he went, until the man returned and purchased him something from the menu. Upon seeing this, the street person returned to the restaurant and began arguing with the staff. It appeared he did not want the food that was purchased he wanted the money. At this point I saw a police car driving slowly along the street with its emergency lights flashing. I assumed it he staff had called the police and the police would handle the situation. No, the police slowly drove by and the staff continued to observe the man yelling at customers. This is one of the most stressful dining experiences I have ever had. It was obvious the man had mental health issues, and I would not expect the staff to handle him themselves. I am still in disbelief that they simply asked us to give him money and watched from a distance as he harassed everyone in the restaurant. I will never go back to...

If you are looking for a place with a pleasant environment, good quality food, to either dine yourself or with friends, The Plant is a good call. They have an interesting take on food: they serve dishes made from locally produced ingredients, thus supporting local farmers. And their menu is quite varied. You can can entrees, main dishes, saladas, burgers, wraps, desserts, coffee. And vegetarians and vegans can also relax, as there are plenty options for them (all discriminated in their menu). And most important: dishes are really tasty. They also have a side menu for drinks. You can have special beers, signature drinks, wine, etc. Which also means that the more you order the more expensive it gets. As I usually have lunch there (dinner not as much), I order a main dish, a soda and coffee in the end, and I usually pay between R$ 70,00 to 100,00 (USD 14.50 to 21.00; AUD 20.00 to 29.00, as per June 2023 exchange rates). So, it would not be the place to eat out everyday, rather to more special occasions. But I think the prices are fair for the quality of food and drinks (at least the ones I have had so far). Service is also good. There are enough serving staff willing to take orders in a friendly and polite way. Finally, the place is called The Plant for a reason: it is surrounded by green, and in it you might notice the ferns hanging on the ceiling. It all gives the place a pleasant atmosphere, to enjoy your...

Very nice discovery in asa sul! I always thought that ‘the plant’ was a vegetarian / vegan restaurant, and it never really caught my attention. However, after following them on Instagram, I happily discovered that they’re actually a brand that serves natural food - without conservatives and industrialized products. They shop local, choose the menu based on season availability, and they’re conscious. I’m very happy to have decided to go for lunch there - I wasn’t disappointed. They offer breakfast menu from 8 til 12, and then lunch menu starts. Everything we tasted was amazing, and you can taste the freshness of the ingredients. Definitely coming back for...

Great food, with a ton of healthy options. Great juices, açaí, salads, artisanal teas, and excellent entrees. It is a bit pricey but it's definitely worth it. Perhaps the best part about the restaurant is the excellent service. The wait staff is very attentive. The atmosphere is also very versatile. It can be a cute location for a romantic dinner for two and at the same time it has coloring books and crayons for kids. Love this place and definitely worth coming back.
