Pattada Restaurante — Restaurant in Região Geográfica Imediata do Rio de Janeiro

We came in as a group of 8. They took our order. Came back after a while saying they did not have the foods that 2 people ordered. Then disappeared for 15 minutes, and they did not get the chance to order anything else in the meanwhile. Finally server came back, but the Restaurant did not have the other food items that they were interested in. Then the server disappeared again without us getting to order. Which means 2 out 8 did not get to order any food, and were left with blank plates while the rest of us got our food, unsure whether any food was being prepared for them. The servers seemed quite clueless and very hands-off. Not the best experience. One of us spoke portuguese fluently, so there shouldn’t have been any communication problems. As a cherry on top, they got 1 of the other orders wrong. All in all, poor kitchen management, and bad communication from the servers (why couldn’t they at least talk to us once to inform us about the status of the food? Apparently, some food WAS being prepared, but it was 30 min behind all other food we got served at our table. But by then everybody had finished their food, so we were allowed to cancel the food). However, the servings were quite big, which is nice, and it was spacious...

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here. It was so good that we came back for dinner. To feed a family of 4 in the United States, this meal would have cost more than 150.00 for food if this caliber. We even had drinks. The steak was cooked to perfection. Please order medium. I'm sure they could make any steak the way you want it, but the flavors were fantastic. Each server was wonderful even though we couldn't speak Portuguese. We used Google translator, and it worked sufficiently. Pictures posted are lunch and dinner. Esquina da Praia da Barra (Av do Pepê ou Sernambetiba) com a Olegário Maciel. Localizado em um novo prédio comercial com um grande espaço de frente para a praia onde existem outros restaurantes vizinhos. Na outra esquina o Columbia velho conhecido pelos seus fartos grelhados. O Pattada tem um ótimo atendimento, qualquer garçom lhe atende com a maior simpatia sem ter aquela coisa de vc esperar o seu para pedir alguma coisa. Parece que já sabiam da qualidade dos pratos de seu vizinho do outro lado da rua e caprichou na qualidade e quantidade. Tem ainda a vantagem do atendimento que melhor. A primeira vez que visitamos - eu, minha esposa e nossa cadela Misha (Golden Retriever) - pedimos uma muqueca de peixe e foi muito boa. Para duas pessoas e ainda dá para levar pra casa porque e prato é bem farto. Na segunda vez fomos na picanha fatiada que é especial. Excelente. O chopp vem naquela caneca geladinha tipo Outback. Perfeito. Tem a parte interna climatizada e a externa coberta ou descoberta (dá pra levar seu cão sem problemas) com estacionamento fácil na praia pois é um local próximo ao prédio do Salvamento e não tão frequentado como o do Pepê mais para o lado do Recreio. Os preços não são altos e o custo/benefício é muito bom. Vizinho tem o Jerônimo que não conheço, mas parece muito bom. O Pattada está sempre muito frequentado, o que é um bom sinal.
