My dining experiences at Térèze, the restaurant at MGallery Santa Teresa, were nothing short of exceptional. Whether for breakfast or dinner, every meal was a delight, with impeccable service and outstanding food quality.
Breakfast: Though not a buffet, the refined table service made the experience even more special. Instead of navigating a crowded spread, the staff—especially Aroido—brought everything we desired straight to the table. The selection was fantastic: fresh, vibrant fruits, perfectly cooked eggs, artisanal bread, and delicious cereals. Aroido was extremely helpful and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed while adding warmth to the morning. The attention to detail and quality of ingredients made it one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had.
Dinner: Dinner was just as impressive. Every dish was exquisitely prepared and beautifully presented, showcasing a blend of flavors that highlighted both creativity and technique. The menu offers a wonderful mix of local and international influences, and each plate we tried was a standout. Thiago, our server, was patient, professional, and attentive, guiding us through the menu with expertise and making excellent recommendations.
Final Thoughts: Even if you’re not staying at the hotel, Térèze is worth a visit. The combination of delicious food, elegant presentation, and outstanding service (thanks to Aroido and Thiago!) makes it a true gem in Santa Teresa. Whether for a leisurely breakfast or a memorable dinner, this restaurant exceeds expectations. Highly...
Read moreTérèze restaurant strikes the perfect balance between upscale elegance and casual comfort. The dimly lit interior allows the city views to shine through large windows, while the glass-enclosed wine room showcases an impressive international selection. Despite its sophistication, the ambiance is cozy and inviting.
The menu is thoughtfully curated and impressively inclusive, with clear indications for vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and other dietary needs, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
We started with a simple yet high-quality plate of butter, bread, radishes, and salt, setting the tone for the meal. The Tartar de Cogumelos, light and flavorful, was followed by a perfectly cooked and tender steak. The standout dishes were the Gnocchi de Beterraba and the Steak de Namorado au Poivre (which is actually, beautifully, a fish dish). The gnocchi, tender and vibrant, was a visual and culinary delight, while the fish combined buttery, peppery, sweet, and creamy flavors without overwhelming the palate.
Located in a charming part of Rio we might not have otherwise visited, Térèze was a delightful experience. The friendly staff, particularly Thiago and Andrew, made our ordering process seamless, even in English. A well-deserved stop during our...
Read moreWe had one of the worst dining experiences there, and this being the only customer in the whole restaurant.
We started of with a big smile and a kind lady that ordered the menu. We were served starter and then waited... And waited... And waited. An hour and a half later a new waiter was present and we asked where our main course was. The sir in question asked us what we wanted to eat and we told him we already ordered 1.5 hours before. The waiter was suddenly panicking and waiving to his colleague who was too busy on her phone to tell that she forgot something but she didn't seem to care. They told us that the food should be ready in half an our. We told her we were not hungry anymore and would like to call this experience a day. She didn't even seem to care a slight bit and charged us full price for the dinner after we told her she should at least get rid of the main course or even more. She scratched the mains and left us with 500 BRL for 4 glasses of wine and a shared starter. Wine was so average and knowing you pay 600 BRL for one of Rio's best class restaurants 'full course' menus...
