Balsa Bar — Restaurant in Região Imediata de São Paulo

This place has a fun, vibrant atmosphere and hosts such a variety of people. It’s an old building that you have to put your name in to enter, but unlike some of the (bad) reviews, at no point did I feel like the structure of the building was under question. It simply has old, vintage style decorations, which I think make for a very nice atmosphere. There’s an indoor area as well as an upstairs terrace, where you have a very nice view of the city.

This place serves drinks as well as small kitchen style food. Please note, I think they usually only have 3 options for food choices, as they rotate their kitchen for different shared kitchens/chefs. While this makes options limited, I really enjoy the concept. I didn’t come to the bar expecting to eat a ton.

I will say the one downside is the amount of people. I think given that it’s open such a short time (3 or 6 to 11), everyone wants to fit in their night at balsa when they can. This made for a full bar, which made it a longer wait to order drinks, food, etc. and it made it hard to get views off of the terrace, as people naturally hang around the edges to see the city.

Overall, I really enjoyed this place and all the people inside seemed friendly. It wasn’t too overwhelming, just longer wait. A very fun concept! Would definitely love to return!

One of the coolest bars in São Paulo. Has an open terrace where you can order food, but if it rains there's no roof so you have to bring your umbrella. The view is really nice and the drinks are pretty cool. From a price perspective it's mid to expensive and there is also and entrace fee of 6 $R. As I understood the bar is open every Thursday since it is between some apartment buildings and the noise bothers the people nearby. The area near the bar is not that safe at night so when coming back home and Uber or Cab are...

Oi, tudo bem? Queria deixar um feedback sobre a minha experiência no restaurante. Estive aí com meu namorado à alguns meses e achamos o espaço incrível, a vista maravilhosa e o atendimento no bar foi ótimo. No entanto, ao descermos para o restaurante, passamos por uma situação que nos deixou extremamente constrangidos. Ao chegarmos, não havia ninguém na entrada para orientar os clientes, tampouco indicação clara de lista de espera ou de como deveríamos proceder. Vendo algumas mesas disponíveis e não recebendo nenhum tipo de recepção, imaginamos que poderíamos nos sentar por conta própria, o que infelizmente gerou um mal-entendido.

Pouco tempo depois, uma atendente se aproximou de maneira ríspida, sem se apresentar ou explicar a situação de forma cordial, perguntando apenas nosso nome e, ao não encontrá-lo em uma lista, solicitou que nos levantássemos de maneira debochada e constrangedora, diante de todos os presentes. Apesar de nossas desculpas, a postura da profissional manteve-se arrogante e irônica, nos causando grande desconforto. Acabamos nos retirando da mesa e, por vergonha, não permanecemos para realizar nosso pedido. Entendemos que pode ter sido um mal-entendido da nossa parte, mas acreditamos que com uma recepção mais clara e uma abordagem mais educada a situação seria totalmente diferente. O lugar tem tudo para ser perfeito, mas infelizmente saímos constrangidos e sem jantar. Além de tudo, ainda espero que posso ir mais para frente. Tirar esse "amargo da boca" quando...
