🌶️ PADRE RESTAURANT The Holy Culinary Daddy I Didn’t Know I Needed 🌶️ I walked into Padre expecting the usual: a plate of overpriced beige, a vegan menu that reads like a punishment, and maybe a waiter who sighs when I ask for tap water. But no!!!!!! Padre looked me dead in the soul and said, “Not today, sweetheart. Today, you eat.”
Let’s talk about the chili con carne, because I swear on my last good nerve, this thing was divine intervention in a bowl. Rich, spicy, meaty without being greasy, like it was handcrafted by a chili-obsessed monk in a secret spice monastery. I had to physically stop myself from licking the plate. And by “physically,” I mean someone took my spoon away.
The bread? Don't get me started. Crusty on the outside, fluffy on the inside, warm like a cozy guilt trip from your grandmother. I would punch a small cloud for another slice.
And yes!!!!!!! shocker of the century — they have vegan options that don’t taste like regret. Actual effort was made. It’s giving “plant-based with purpose,” not “last-minute cucumber pity salad.”
Let’s talk location: right in the center, so you feel important while eating. Yes, the outside area has a bit of a budget toothpaste commercial vibe, but who cares? You’re not there to romance the sidewalk, you’re there to get fed and feel alive.
The vibe? Clean. Sharp. Sparkling. The kind of place where you don’t have to carry your own disinfectant wipes or fear food poisoning roulette. No ear infections. No eye boogers. (Looking at some dog groomers out there.)
💦 Even the water was fancy. Like, it tasted filtered through diamonds...
Read moreA big and pleasant surprise. We came here upon recommendation, and enjoyed of a lovely evening. The atmosphere is cozy and tranquile in a quiet environment, the food is tasty and full of flavor, very well presented, with close attention to details, esthetics, and allergens. Everything was delicious: the salads, one with avocado and artichokes, another one with kidney beans; the prawns in butter, the risotto chicken, Mie Goreng from the Indonesian cuisine; the paté de foie, the classic chips with white cheese; the spicy chili con carne. And the prices are more than reasonable, I would even say cheap: all the said dishes, a beer and a glass of wine, for just 90 BGN before tip. Our special thanks to charming Denis the one-of-a-kind waiter, who served by himself the whole restaurant with kindness, professionalism, and efficiency, without neglecting any single detail or request. It's a well-deserved 5 points out of 5 in every single aspect, so we will definitely come back and recommend it to all our acquaintances...
Read moreI ate at Padre for dinner and had Shrimp in butter sauce with Pernod for a starter and a Classic burger as main course. The Shrimp was good, and the sauce well balanced. Overall a classic dish well made. The Burger was nice. it is served with a lot of vegetables and a fair amount of sauce, wich overcrowded the bun. Don't get me wrong, I like vegetables in a burger and a good sauce is great. but if you and up bitting the bun and no meat in the bite, it's not a burger anymore. The meat itself was good, although a little bit overcooked for my taste. Concerning the french fries... well french fries should never be so brown and soggy. The salt and herbs mix they were tossed in was nice, and the mayo was good. With a glass of wine and a soda, I paid 55 BGN. Not cheap but fair. Overall, and despite the flawds, I'd recommend the place. I had a...
