Hemus Hotel — Hotel in Sofia City

I'll start with the positive points first:||- I'll start with the positive points first||- The minibar and the drinks at the bar are cheap||Now the negative points they are effecting mostly the rooms:||- The carpet is dirty and the rooms stink. Most probably they never changed the carpet since the hotel was build||- The air conditioning was installed later. The hose to dispose the water from the air conditioner goes through a hose into the bathroom and ends above the bathroom floor. this means that the bathroom is always flooded when the air conditioning is on. this is definitely not acceptable.||- The room cannot be darkened because the fabric of the curtains is very very thin and translucent. As soon as the sun rises it is not possible to sleep. In my case it was around 05:30AM when the sun came up. This point bothered me the most because I didn't get enough sleep on my business trip.||||I have visited the hotel Hemus regularly since 2017 when I have not been able to get a room elsewhere. in 2019 they had done major renovations, but I still don't understand what exactly was improved. the points just mentioned above have not been resolved. only the tv was exchanged for a flat screen and the bracket for the old tube tv was removed. Maybe this was the reason of renovation. ||||I hope that someone from the hotel will read this as a general overhaul is urgently needed. Especially with the carpet and the curtains. There's no point in choosing a hotel to relax after a long meeting day and can't even sleep because of the windows that can't be darkened or the smell of the carpet that has never...

This is a nice hotel in a great location downtown . The room we had was very big. The water focet was not working proparly. The rest was working in the room. We had free breakfast which was great except the waiter that was telling us off beacause it is 10:00 and we have to leave beacause she needs to clean. We left at 10:05 and she was really not happy. The all you can eat breakfast had eggs, bacon, sausage, hot dog, salami, cheese, feta cheese and a lot of sweets and some fruits. Overall I believe it was a great choice of food and the food was good. The hotel has 2 areas one that is new and the old part. I didn't see the old part but some people say is cheaper but really old. It has indoor garage that you pay extra but you get an assigned parking spot that is super secured (video camera, the garage door and the gate outside). Over all we liked the location the quality of the room and we would stay here again if we go...

Terrible. We arrived after midnight after a flight. There was a problem with our booking which they didnt know how to solve. Eventually we had to pay for 2 nights instead of one and we decided to stay for the two of them. Everything seemed solved. We got a room at 2am and at 8am next morning the telephone started to ring even a person from the staff came to our room to wake us up and make us go pay at the reception immediately?! Even tho the receptionist told us that we can pay when we are leaving. I got an email saying that our booking situation is solved but when we went to the reception to pay it turned out that it is not. We left earlier cuz we didnt want to wonder anymore what will happen next. The room was rly cold and the AC had only “cool” option. The rooms are old and the hotel is considered “luxurious”.
