I visited this place four times total over the span of a couple of months while travelling back and forth for work. 2 out of the 4 times I visited - very straightforward, you queue in, wait in line, go to the cash register, order, pay and take a chip that rings when your food is ready. The chip beeps, you walk up to the girls/guy to the counter - as straightforward as it gets. You pick up as many forks as you'd need, you get as many napkins as you'd like. In the end, you bring your cup/dishes to the counter, and the nice ladies/guy wipe the tables after you. Now the other 2 times I went, there was a weird service situation going on - one of the ladies from behind the bar was going out, taking dishes and handing them out, as well as forks and stuff. This is usually lovely, but not only is one barista (mind you, none of these people are trained waitresses, you can literally tell) not enough to cover all tables, let alone wipe them, and clean them when it gets busy - it's honestly a disaster. My food is getting cold, because the people still need to queue in to place their orders, while the lady cannot physically make their way over to our table, god forbid we want salt or anything else. Disaster. One of the most recent times I went, the weather was cold, and you could see the poor girl struggling to carry the dishes inside/outside, because of the heavy door, I think poor girl could even drop them. It's even more ridiculous that this place is desinged for self service, and the lack of appropriate waitresses is also appalling. Please, for the love of the vibe of cafe, stop this weird half-service situation, I loved it very much, when I was in complete charge of picking up my drinks and not being bothered by staff constantly to pick up my dish or deliver it, or having to beg for salt or napkins or whatever. If this place wants to pretend to be restaurant - open one, not force this cafe to play dolls and act like a restaurant, which it is clearly not. I love the baristas, I love the food, I love the vibes, but this just bugged me really hard, so I felt the need to...
Read moreThe omelette and scrambled eggs need serious improvement. Not only the colour is totally wrong (light orange and white, no yellow) but there is this nylon-like texture on the top of the omelette from oil they use I guess and the taste is bland and untypical (flat and heavy) of omelette. The scrambled eggs have same problem with taste, they taste bland and the texture is thick and flat, not airy and tall. The Baker which is on Oborishte street a bit further has exemplary scrambled eggs, if the managers or cooks are reading this I suggest you check out their scrambled eggs and make adjustments. My own suggestion is try different eggs and add a bit of water to the omelette and scrambled eggs, also consider changing the type of oil you use to make them, a bit of butter goes a long way instead of oil. (they have fried stuff, so butter is in line with the health-taste balance they pursue, there is also meat on the menu, so it is not a vegan decision to avoid butter, if they do.)
Also I got to point that equal quality coffee shop on Asen Zlatarov street which is nearby serves the fredo capuccino with 1 EUR (2 BGN) less in pricing.
Service is good, many lunch menus I have had are all around good. Have had exceptional deserts and avocado sandwiches too (except the salmon which for some reason is minced, I guess it is cheaper to buy it this way).
Once the omelette and eggs are improved I will...
Read moreYet another extremely disappointing service from this place. The guys at the service counter are systemically just not focused and don’t show eagerness to serve the client. Rather, consistent levels of apathy and carelessness… While we like their “mekitzi” (the kitchen seems to be doing a good job), coming over to grab a to-go order proved disastrous yet again . For the second time the jolly staff applies no coordination and demonstrates lack of quality control on the orders, which results into us coming home and finding out our beloved “mekitzi” are solo No feta cheese, no honey, no jam, nada. After calling them back and explaining what has happened for yet another time, i received a breezy response “sorry for that”. no sense of urgency, desire to improve on the feedback, let alone eagerness to remedy the disappointing experience. Yet another disappointing Sunday treat. I guess we are better off looking out for another good Sunday treat place rather than trying to help the staff improve on their service...
