I’ve been to this restaurant before and enjoyed it, so my husband and I came back to catch the end of the Abbotsford Canucks game—with our baby.
My husband arrived first and ordered a beer. When I joined him a few minutes later and ordered a drink too, the server came back and asked only me for ID. I didn’t have it with me—which I understand can be an issue—but what didn’t make sense was the inconsistency.
My husband, who is younger than I am, wasn’t asked at all. He even offered his ID and asked if she needed it too. The server said nothing. No response, no explanation—just awkward silence.
For the record, I’m 30. But apparently, I give off “teenage mom with an older husband” energy.
It was a strange and uncomfortable moment that left us feeling singled out without reason. We chose to leave.
I respect ID policies. But when they’re applied selectively and without communication, it reflects poorly on the service and training. There are better places in Abbotsford—where staff are consistent, respectful, and able to respond with basic empathy.
In response:
Hi Shawnna,
I absolutely understand the need for strict ID policies, especially with increased oversight from the liquor board. My concern wasn’t about being ID’d—it was the inconsistency in how it was applied and the lack of communication in the moment.
It would have made a big difference if the server had simply explained why I was being asked and my husband wasn’t, especially when he offered his ID and was ignored. Instead, the interaction felt awkward and dismissive, which ultimately impacted our experience.
I appreciate you taking the time to follow up and hope this kind of feedback helps support your staff in being both consistent and clear with guests...

Read moreWe tried this restaurant for the first time. I ordered the steak and sushi for $26 and I was surprised when I got my order. The steak looked like the size of a 4 oz, I felt like asking if they forgot the other half in the back somewhere. I’m fairly experienced with sushi and have eaten sushi in various restaurants for years and I have never had cucumber and onions in a spicy tuna roll. The cucumber and onion actually made it taste like a tuna fish sandwich. Typically when you get a spicy tuna roll the tuna is a chunk of meat and not a small amount of shredded tuna mixed with onion, there was actually more cucumber in the roll than tuna, but it’s called a spicy tuna roll. The vegetables that came with the steak were cooked well and were very tasty and so was the sauce. My wife and son really enjoyed their burgers and fries and would definitely go back for the burgers again. My daughter had the fish and chips and enjoyed it but unfortunately some of the white meat was tough, a little over cooked in the deep fryer. The environment was very nice and the waitress...
