So disappointed in our experience here tonight. I went with my 2 boys ages 1.5 and 3.5 years old. My friends also went with their older kids. We arrived at 525p. Was told it would be a 35 minute wait and didnt get seated for over an hour. When we kept asking when we would be seated we kept being told there was a party of 6 infront of us that they needed to seat first(which is fine and fair). We waited. When they had our table ready they sent soneone over to tell us they couldnt seat us and our kids yet even though they had the table all set for us because the party of 6 adults that were waiting needed to be seated at a high top table before they could seat us(due to fairness) amd they just were waiting for the people at the high tabke to finish paying. In my 10 years of waitressing and hosting and customer service i would have personally explained to the adults that there was a table with young children being sat at a floor table due to needing high chairs but that within the next couple minutes the high top table would be available for them and would work as fast as they could to prepare that table for them once the people at that table left as they were just paying to leave. Seemed so weird that instead they wanted us to be chasing 2 small kiddos in the entry way for an additional time while we have also been waiting over an hour for a table all so the adults wouldn't complain. After being seated at around 630- we didnt have someone come take our order until after 7, by this point we had been there for an hour and a half and my kids were starving, we waited an additional 30-40 mimutes for food to come. Having been seated for over an hour. We ordered 2 kids meals- one being a Mac n. Cheese which ended up being spicy and none of us could eat it let alone my 3.5 year old. When I told the waitress she said she could remove the charge for the meal we couldnt eat... She didn't. And it was too busy to even argue or correct the bill. On top of that their 12$ kids meals ended up also being 12.50 and the waitress said the price had changed but it wasn't updated on their menu and was rang through as individually priced items instead of just "kids meal" etc. Which this didn't have much effect on me, but other people it may. While we were there waitress came to our table all of 3 times all the while needing to be found to come bring us our ice cream and check at the end. We didn't end up leaving until 830. Absolutely not worth the over 3 hour experience there.
The games in their game section to keep people entertained amd add a bit of a chill vibe is also not well maintained and genuinely at this point seems like a waste of space. We did play giant jenga and let our kids run around a little but the timeliness and quality of food versus the wait we had to endure with kids wasn't at all the vibes we wanted. Won't be coming back anytime soon. Which is sad because we've gone midday and had a better experience but this dinner rush felt so...
Read moreThe good: When we were able to eat here, our server was friendly and 2 out of the 3 meals were good. The drinks were also tasty.
The bad: The host was really timid on our first visit and gave away the table we were waiting for to a pushy family who came after us.
We came at noon on Sunday for lunch and found out that only brunch was served until 2, so we ordered from the brunch menu, but our food took 3 hours to get to our table, so we may as well have ordered from the lunch menu. The server came back after an hour and a half and brought us a growler of water, which was nice because we were very thirsty after waiting so long. Two of the three meals came with the wrong sides. The egg on my breakfast sandwich was rotten and the chef said, "That's weird".
The other meals were delicious, even with the mixup of sides, and the parts of my sandwich that I could eat around were good. They did offer to remake our food, but we couldn't wait another 3 hours at that point. The server was understanding and they comped the egg sandwich from the bill.
The really bad: We tried to come back to give them another shot. We called well ahead of time, but nobody answered, so we took our chances showing up at 4:00pm on a Friday. They said they wouldn't have taken our call anyway because they don't take reservations on Friday, but they couldn't give us a table because they were all reserved for 5:30.
At first I thought I must have misunderstood - no reservations left on Friday? No, the host repeated, "We don't accept any reservations on Friday, Saturday or Sunday" I asked again if we could wait for a table and was told, "No, they are all reserved tonight". At that point we gave up and left.
I really, really want them to succeed. It's such a cool space with incredible potential, but right now it's an abysmal disappointment. Maybe we'll try again in a few months, once they've had more time to fix all of the big problems...
Read moreA couple weeks ago 3 friends and I walked in to the brewery and were met with the hostess up front. Before seating us she asked for our IDs. I have been to this brewery before and have never been IDâd up front.
I want to mention that my friends and I are all in our 30s and 40s.
One of my friends mentioned that he just got his license renewed, and does not have the license card as he is waiting for it in the mail. Instead he had the yellow paper given by ICBC, along with a photo of his old license on his phone, and multiple credit/debit cards. His identification shows his age (31).
The hostess said that she is not able to serve any of us because the yellow paper does not suffice.
My friend mentioned that in that case he will just have water and food, and wonât order any alcoholic beverages. The hostess still refused to seat us.
Meanwhile I saw children running around the restaraunt. I asked the hostess if she IDs the children. She said no - but they are there with their guardians.
I made the point that if she is insinuating that our friend (who doesnât have valid ID in her eyes) is underage - he could easily be the child of our oldest group member, who is 40. She said no because that is not my friendâs guardian.
I then pointed out that she cannot prove he is not my friends guardian the same way she cannot prove any of the other children running around the restaurant are there with their guardians - as she does not ID the children, and is unwilling to accept my friends legal government issued identification.
She then replied: âI am sorry this is our policyâ
I mentioned to her that this âpolicyâ is completely whack. It is illogical, conflicting and opens the door for staff to subjectively pick and choose who they allow to enter the restaurant based on how they may be feeling.
I have not ever been treated this poorly at an establishment before. I wish I could give this place Less...
