I went to tahinis for their grand opening 50% off day this past Sunday. I got the medium chicken shawarma and the medium Gyro w lamb and beef as well as dough bits for dessert. If the price remained 50% off, it would be a great value. However that is not the case.
Overall the wraps were a 3/5 max in terms of taste, value and size. The taste was mediocre but it was good, the biggest piece that made the low rating was that there is minimal toppings and meat. The wrap is double wrapped and takes over the other flavours. For 50% I think it is a good deal but the full price 11$ is too much for what you get. I would not get a wrap here again as there is too much bread and not enough meat/toppings.
On the other hand, the dough bits are fantastic 5/5 taste. Somewhat expensive though. I think it was 12 for 9$ or 30 for 15$. So many different flavours. If you’re looking for a once in awhile great treat, you could get these and be very satisfied. Definitely better than timbits but also 4x the price.
My overall impression would be to skip tahinis and do yourself a favour and go to {Pita Basket Airdrie} it’s 3$ more for their small pita wraps, although they are MUCH bigger, taste is SIGNIFICANTLY better and there is so much more toppings put on.
If you want to save 3$ and are happy with an average pita vs a fantastic pita, choose Tahinis over...
Read moreMy wife and I have eaten here twice and were totally impressed about every aspect of the place. First, the staff are amazing - very friendly and leave you feeling happy and appreciated. Second, the food is delicious and even the sauces are made from scratch - yes, this is fast food, but a step up. The place is immaculately clean. We normally would do take-out, but the atmosphere is nice enough that we decided to eat in both times. Prices are quite reasonable and the portion sizes are fair. I tried a large chicken shawarma wrap this time and it was too big for me. Lastly, Tahini is co-located with another cool franchise that makes dough bits - deep fried balls of goodness that look similar to a Timbit but are soft, chewy and topped with a variety of yummy things like white chocolate sauce with coconut. The owner promised me that these had zero calories - OK, maybe (definitely) not! 😉 So, you get dinner and dessert all in one stop. Tahini is a franchise with more than 35 stores primarily in Ontario - in fact, Airdrie is the first western location. Lucky us! Be sure to try the chicken or...
Read moreHorrible experience. My sister in law and I had to wait in the restaurant for an HOUR for our takeout orders to be ready and it wasn't even that busy! Then when we got home, I realized that we were not given pita for our hummus, so I had to drive all the way back for it. The owner offered no compensation, nothing to better my experience. Then! Half way through my husband and I eating our "ultimate box for 2", we realize that they also didn't give us the shawarma wrap that's part of the platter either! On top of that, the wraps that my sister in law ordered for her family were all made incorrectly. We couldn't even call to complain because the business number just goes to a voicemail message.
I understand that this location is new, but there was absolutely no communication between the staff. The owner/manager was doing nothing to encourage prompt or accurate service. Just being nice isn't going to save your business if you're making customers wait an hour for some simple wraps, bowls, and fries and also messing up their orders at...
