EDIT: Rewriting my previous review as I now have a much more recent experience with it. Spoiler: It's just as incredible as last time. The apocalypse of the chicken burger.
So as someone who specializes in crunchy bird sandwiches, I bought one called "The Original". Do you see the size of this thing? Do you see how gargantuan the tenders are compared to the bun? My own photos DO NOT do its monumental size any justice. Go see it in person. And, surprisingly enough, it's not even their largest one. I swear they experienced a McChicken and vowed to never let their customer have a chicken-less bite again because my goodness, the breaded bird never ended, from the first bite to the last.
But it's not empty size either, because it's one of if not the most savoury, the most juicy, and, crucially, most satisfying crunchy bird sandwiches I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. So much crunch that, even after an hour of wrangling this titan of a sandwich, it STILL had a little bit of texture left in the interior after all that juice. And whatever they use for seasoning is mind bogglingly good, and still leaves room for the chipotle sauce to just explode in my mouth. One thing to note was that this was actually two GIANT tenders instead of one patty, so sandwich integrity may be compromised, causing a few bites to have somewhat less meat than usual. But the sheer brilliance of the taste, (and admittedly, the mess), was well worth the trouble. And did I mention how enormous this thing was? Knowing I was headed here, I only had a single protein bar the day of, and left the place feeling twenty pounds fuller. And that's not even including the fries.
I normally prefer thinner shoestring fries over chunkier steak fries as they're easier to achieve a great level of seasoning and that perfect bite: a mild, satisfying crunch and a soft center. And while the majority of the steak fries I got were just that, there WERE a few that felt a little harder to chew through. Not stale and unseasoned, however, unlike Chuck's Roadhouse's fries. Perhaps that can't be helped, and I'd love to know why some fries feel this way and others don't, but it's only a minor gripe to what is an already incredible meal.
The place itself was rather simple. It's laid out like a fast food restaraunt where you seat yourself and you walk up to a cashier to order, but the cashier is also your waiter of sorts (or waitress, in our case). The interior was welcoming and unobtrusive, nothing really to write home about except for a wall of greenery beside the self-serve soda machine. I'm not sure if "hipster aesthetic" would be appropriate, as there wasn't too much to note there, but it felt like the phrase could fit.
Our order was actually fairly quick this time. Around fifteen to twenty minutes for a group of three, though it wasn't a busy day in the slightest. Even so, the fact that such quality food came through this quickly means they have their food prep and assembly down to an exact science. The woman who served us was incredibly friendly and also really funny.
This place opened close to the pandemic and has survived ever since. And it absolutely, 1000% deserves to. Do you see how long this review is? How passionate I am about this place and its food? Hell, this is how I find out reviews have a character limiSure, the chicken burger may not have been innovative or unique. But I don't think there could be any more proof that they've worked tirelessly to perfect it as close as they possibly can. It's traditional. It's conventional. And yet it shines the brightest out of all. It's the end of the chicken burger as I know it. There's no more mountain left to scale. This is it.
It's expensive though. $15 for the burger, $21 with fries. I dunno guys. It might be worth it. But I'll go back to make sure.
9.8/10 food. The steak fries are brutally tough to get right 100% of the time, but that's just what I think it takes to get a perfect 10 here. 10/10 fast, friendly, funny service. 9/10 value; it's very expensive but just the $15 Original alone could...
Read moreGreat burger place in Ajax strip mall. Saw the sign of the burger place for a very long time but never went. Finally tried it and was glad I did. Interior of the place does not look like a fast food joint. Nice coffee chairs and tables. Very spacious for a small location. No monitor for burgers but printed menu. Quite a selection of burgers all halal. Server at desk was friendly - as it was my first visit and I saw the large menu I wasn’t sure what to try. He gave me some tips which were the favourites and explained each one which was very nice. Here are a few points I want to mention. Burgers are fresh made so it easily takes 15 minutes to make. So if you are in a hurry think again. Burgers are a premium I bought the Bae - which is burger wirh cheese and bacon and special sauce. Burger was approx $12 before tax no fries or drink. So assume $20 for a full meal. Presentation of burger was great it wasn’t slapped together. Bun was soft meat was nicely formed as a thick patty not a dry thin piece.
Impressions: Burger had a nice bite because meat was thick. Seasoning had a bit of flavour personally I thought it could have a touch more salt but otherwise was fine. The meat had a bit of chewy bits which was off putting. Sauce had a nice tang but was too thin. I had read a review before that someone thought it was a bit messy and in a way it was true. I ate it hot in the store and it was very drippy - would prefer it was a thicker sauce. Burger was supposed to come with cheese lettuce tomatoes. I saw the tomato to be honest I don’t recall the cheese or lettuce. I’m not complaining I just don’t actually recall seeing this. The bacon was a nice thick cut and tasty. I recall onions on the burger which was nice. There was no ketchup on the burger and kind of wonder if there could have been more toppings as standard. I went on a Friday near lunch I was the only person for a while then a family came in. It’s unfortunate. I think it has potential and overall great impression with tweaks that could be improved. But location isn’t right and personally price isn’t right for the area location and type of place. I suggest there be deals to make it more worthwhile. Just a thought. I probably will go again but since it’s a bit expensive it’s not a first...
Read moreBurgers on Fleek is, without a doubt, an absolute gem of a burger joint and easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the second I walked in, I was greeted with warm, enthusiastic smiles from the staff, who immediately made me feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer. The service was phenomenal—attentive without being overbearing, friendly without being fake, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Our server not only offered great recommendations (which turned out to be spot on) but also checked in just the right amount to make sure everything was perfect, and it truly was. Now, let’s talk about the food—because wow, these burgers are on a whole other level. I ordered the signature “Fleek Fire” and it was everything I hoped for and more: a thick, juicy patty cooked to perfection, topped with melty cheddar, spicy jalapeños, crisp lettuce, and smothered in their addictive house-made sauce, all sandwiched between a buttery, toasted brioche bun that held up beautifully without being too heavy. The flavors were bold, balanced, and downright crave-worthy. The truffle fries on the side were outrageously good—crispy, flavorful, and impossible to stop eating—and the milkshake I had (salted caramel, for the win) was rich, creamy, and tasted like something straight out of a 1950s diner, in the best way possible. Every aspect of the meal was carefully thought out and executed with care, and the passion the staff has for what they do really shines through. You can tell they take pride in creating not just a meal, but a full-on experience that keeps people coming back. Between the incredible food, the next-level service, and the cool, welcoming vibe of the place, Burgers on Fleek isn’t just a burger restaurant—it’s a burger destination, and I’m already counting down the days until I can go back. Five stars...
