Sunrise Caribbean Restaurant — Restaurant in Ajax

This restaurant is generally clean and I can see some effort to provide good service. I gave them two star because it misrepresents what Jamaican/Caribbean food should look and taste like and the lunch/dinner meals are acceptable. Their breakfast however is drowning in oil and the portions are small. For example, I ordered okra and saltfish with banana and dumpling. I got a piece of banana and 1 piece of dumpling which was already cut. The dumpling looks like a quarter of a whole dumpling if not less than a quarter. The taste wasn’t bad but their breakfast requires more flavour. There is more seasoning than meat or vegetables. Their Ackee and Saltfish should be called an Onion Special with ackee flavour. Their Okra and a Saltfish should be called Onion Special with Okra and a Saltfish flavour. I think they should revert to the food they used to provide 3 years ago. I go there out of convenience and to check if there are any improvements. My spouse no longer orders food from them and I have found better quality Jamaican food...

Oh boy, I should have looked at the reviews before ordering my food because they tell a telling story. We called at 7:20 PM for takeout and woman on the phone said to hurry up because they close at 8:00 PM. Absolutely no customer service skills, which should have been another red flag. We got to the restaurant at 8:40 and to pick up the food and the lady said she cancelled our oder because she thought we were not going to show up? This was shocking to us, how do you assume that, and if they were worried about us randomly cancelling, they should have called and confirmed our oder and not wait until we drove to the restaurant to find that out. They lady was not apologetic. but her mother, the older woman seemed sorry. I truly don't know how they run their business. We went there with our toddler who had to wait an extra 15 minutes for food that should have been ready. On top of that, we come home to rotten coleslaw. RUN from this place and save your money. We will be filing a complaint to head...

Called today at 1pm to ask what time the daily special is finished an older lady rudely said there is no special, I asked what do you mean today's special is curry chicken she then said we don't have any I didn't make it I only have boneless curry chicken and that's not special. So I asked her if theres anything she can do she then replied no no special did you call to bother me or make a order. I asked who am I speaking with she replied I DON'T KNOW I asked what is your name she kissed her teeth and hung up. I've been a daily customer since it's been open.I will not drive to the Salem location even though further for me.I have a large audience and I will be using it..the website statement does not match the...
