My family and our neighbours family (4 adults and 1 child) were at this place for brunch (around 10:30am) on September 30th,2022. Our waitress’s name was Amber. I must agree the food was delicious but the service was so bad. Amber took our order around 11:00am and we were waiting and waiting and waiting for our food. We noticed few people who walked in after us had already gotten their food yet not us. Amber was keep coming back to our table for top up with coffee but no sign of food. Finally we asked the other waitress if our food is ready. She then said “not sure” but went to the cash register and looked on the computer screen. I could see everything as I say right across from the kitchen. I knew right away she hadn’t submit our order. I could see it in the other waitress’s face how frustrated she was. Now the time was after Noon and no breakfast yet. Amber then came to our table and said she forgot to send the order and will give a discount for the inconvenience. When we ordered our drinks I asked for chocolate milk and she brought coffee instead. I ordered the Western Omelette and requested banana peppers on the omelette which she didn’t add into the order. Very disappointed. On top of all that, she brought the bill without the discount and charge us for coffee that I didn’t even order. I’ve to say, how unprofessional she was. As one of the customers were leaving (one was carrying a baby) Amber said bye to them but they didn’t hear her. Guess what she did… she muttered ‘f### you’ with the hand gesture (I couldn’t believe). I asked owner to check the camera as this was so unprofessional. Amber was trash talking to us about other tables so who knows what she was talking about us???
Apart from this, we wanna thank the cooks for making delicious breakfast 👏
If Amber ever get to read this message, my kind request to you is please be more professional. Doesn’t matter which profession, be mindful that others are watching.
Thank you! A...
Read moreGuys I liked this place. Its clean, spacious, ample parking space ( its covid times, so that cld have been one of the reasons about parking space), they also have a patio in the parking lot, which I thought was a neat idea. Inside too, like I mentioned earlier is pretty clean and spacious. The service was good. Nothing exceptional, but still good. I mean its an all day bfast place and if anyone wants to be treated like a sultan, they should just stay at home. The hostesses all had to wear mask all the time and I really dont know how they do it. I couldn't. Customers get to take off the mask when they are seated.
The food was good. I ordered the mexican omelette with some baby spinach as an extra order with tea, white toast and home fries. Mine came with beans on my omelette and overall it was very tasty. However the food felt very heavy, oh it comes with cheese too. Hmm wonder why it felt heavy. My girlfriend ordered egg benedicts. Came with 3 eggs, toast and home fries. She felt the food was heavy as well but tasty.
Overall it cost us 30 bux with tax. I added 20% tip and the total was 35 bux. I thought they deserved the 20%. I only wish our hostess spoke a bit slowly. She spoke like she needs to go and put out a fire. Guess its part and parcel of being in the service industry.
The location guys, is something lot of us might not prefer. But then again its away from all the hustle and bustle of everthing and that is something good for this joint. However, it kinda feels like its not in such a desirable area. You look out the window, you see industrial lot which is gated, with a guard dog on watch sign on the gate. On the other hand, its pretty close to the ajax lakeside. Barely 5 minutes drive. So its great to have a HEAVY bfast and then drive to the lakeside and walk it off, which is what we did. Overall a great place with great potential. Glad we went here. You should check it out as well. Check out the...
Read moreBeen to this place a number of times - usually for weekend breakfast/brunch. The menu has a lot of options and the prices are very reasonable. The portions are large and the food tastes very good, although I find the potatoes (grilled, shredded and the deep fried) pretty bland. The Eggs Benedict is huge huge and really very good - great hollandaise! The burgers and fries are amazing as are the sandwiches and wraps that I've tried.
My issue with The Blue Rooster is the inconsistent service. The last time I was there, it was a Sunday morning, and my friend and I expected it to be busy but we walked in around 11, and the place was only half full, which was surprising. We ordered and then we waited. And waited. And waited. Ran out of water, asked for more and didn't get it. The two ladies that were serving weren't unpleasant or rude, but didn't seem to be moving too fast. Then the food finally came. The waitress apologized for the long wait saying that there was some sort of misunderstanding in the kitchen. That's fine. Stuff happens. Started eating, and the food wasn't hot and the eggs were ridiculously overcooked - asked for soft poached and they were rock hard. I never send food back unless there's a huge issue, but I think I was just hungry and cranky and since we had waited long enough, we figured we'd wait a bit longer to get what we ordered. After 50 mins, we finally got our meals and it was fine and the server apologized and we were on our way. I've eaten there and sometimes the food comes out quick and hot and the service is great. But this last time, things were kinda crappy and even though they did offer us free coffee for the mess ups (which isn't much) with so many breakfast/brunch places within a 5 mins drive from this place (a.k.a Angelique's, Scrambles, etc) I probably won't be going back, at least...
