A&W Canada — Restaurant in Alberta

Went here last week to pick up lunch for my client. Ordered a mozza burger combo with onion rings and a sprite. Got up to the window and it was almost $20. I told her that seemed high, she told me it was accurate. She handed me a bag and closed the window. I sat there for several minutes as I was waiting for the sprite, and when she comes back and I ask for it, she tells me that I did not order one. We reviewed the receipt and it said mozza burger, fries, onion rings. I explained to her that I did not order that, and needed the correct meal, she could take the fries from the bag if she wanted to. She came back and handed me a sprite and said have a good day. I explained that I did not order fries and am not paying for them as it was not my money and am ordering for a client. She went and talked to other staff and came back with a toonie. I then asked her if she could just refund my debit purchase so that we can do it again properly. I was told no, that they cannot refund debit purchases and that the toonie was the difference so there it is. I did not have time to stay there and argue, so when I got back to work I looked on the app for the amount a mozza combo with onion rings and sprite was and it turns out I was still overcharged $1.25. Extremely disappointed with the customer service at this A&W location. Not only was my order taken incorrectly, but when I politely pointed out the mistake, the staff completely denied it and refused to fix it. No apology, no accountability, just an unwillingness to make things right.

This kind of attitude ruins the entire experience. As a Canadian company, A&W should be representing Canadian values like respect, honesty, and integrity, not treating customers like they don’t matter. It honestly felt like all they cared about was completing the transaction and moving on, regardless of whether I was satisfied or not.

Howdy ya'll, I gotta say, my favorite meal of the day is breakfast, and A&W's all Canadian breakfast is my absolute favorite, hands down, 2 eggs, any style, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 pieces of toast, 2 fresh slices of tomato, and a very tasty hashbrown 😋 so good, and at a very good price, definitely my favorite place to go for breakfast, especially when I'm in a hurry, plus they bring your order to your table, after ordering, great breakfast, and Great service, can't ask for more, Stop by the next time you want a really tasty breakfast, at a super affordable...
