Meh. Drove out to try some Gluten Free burgers and definitely not too impressed. Menu online advertises a different gluten free bread than what you get. Ordered a gluten free fried chicken burger. Burger itself was okay but the bun… come on. I get this “happens” as mentioned by our waiter 😳😒 but some basic research will help the management and chef understand how to not let your bread break apart… Oil for the fries seems old and not cleaned either. First off, if I knew I was going to get Udis bread, I wouldnt have even shown up. There is potential but handing out a burger bun knowing itll be destroyed is a bit sad from the management team 👎 Ended up paying $50+ for 2 burger meals. Ill pass and go to South St Burger. Atleast they know how to make burgers 🤷

Every time I come to home to High River, I make the beautiful scenic trip out to Black Diamond for the Westwood. Never a bad meal or a bad experience. The odd time we have had to wait a while to get our orders in, but it never went without an apology or an explanation. Brunch here is always a hit, and the hollandaise sauce they have is out of this world. The pickled veggies are an incredible touch to every meal and the fact you can buy the veg in a jar and take it home is a bonus. Donut day is chaotic and I crave the donut and coffee Saturday mornings. The atmosphere is like nothing you will experience! Keep up the great work!

westeood #blackdiamond Decided to take a drive out after reading so many good reviews from this group! For a person who is not celiac, my friend is, and I am a person who do not like fish and chip (most places are too greasy ) this is BY FAR the best fish and chips. •not overly battered •not greasy •look at the pic of the fish, you have more fish than batter •service was AMAZING. We had Emily! If you go visit, ask Emily to be your server. Very knowledgeable gal about celiac, very friendly! I bet all the gals are good but from what I observed and experienced, EMILY HANDS DOWN!!

Westwood Restaurant Review

Our recent visit to Westwood for an early dinner had its share of positives and negatives. The standout feature was the delicious pulled pork sandwich, the daily special, complemented by the charming ambiance of the restaurant.

However, our dining experience was marred by service hiccups. Upon arrival, the "wait to be seated" sign led to a bit of confusion as no one attended to us. We were eventually directed to seat ourselves after seeking assistance at the till. It took some time to receive menus after being seated, indicating a slight lack of organization.

Regrettably, the starter, haloumi cheese, was served overcooked and greasy, falling short of our expectations. Furthermore, the sandwiches were a bit disappointing— one severely lacking in meat, necessitating sharing from the other. Additionally, the promised crispy onions were missing from our sandwiches, and even though offered to take them home, this wasn't adjusted in the bill.

Adding to the frustration was an unexpected charge for the pickles requested for my daughter's burger, which wasn't communicated beforehand. The lack of adjustment in the bill for the missing onions and the unexpected extra charge further impacted our experience.

Despite the pleasant atmosphere and the enjoyable special dish, the inconsistencies in service and food quality detracted from our overall dining pleasure. Until significant improvements are made in these aspects, I'm hesitant to revisit Westwood for another...

Usually when in Black Diamond our family stops in at Marv’s soda shop, but since our daughter being diagnosed as celiac we have had to switch it up. The Westwood is amazing in that almost anything on their menu is gluten free or can be made so. They have a great patio space too. My daughter was so excited to try the corn dog on their kids menu because she hasn’t had one since switching to a gf diet. She was really upset to find that it was made with a cheddar smokie instead of a hot dog and complained that the thin layer of batter covering it was “slimey”. Our server said it was “gourmet”, but I wish they had put the smokie part in the menu description because we would have picked something else. We were not expecting such an odd substitution on the kids menu. Our server was great when we asked for a piece of fish instead. Overall, this place is so great and I would love to come back and try more things. The Cobb salad was sooo good and my kids loved the fish & chips. This place...

Awful service, presentation, accuracy and attitude. We sat at a dirty table as my wife is on crutches. The staff left it that way until we received our food and we asked them to clear it. Have to go inside to order. Deliver food in boxes and bags. Essentially a take out service but we tipped when we ordered. Order was wrong, totally wrong food delivered for one of us, an undercooked (our son is immune compromised) and we asked for an extra well done burger that ended up being pink. No checking in to see how the food was. We had to go in to get napkins, we had to go in to ask for water - which was slammed on our table by a hostile server. We arrived around 1:30. When we complained about the poor service at 2:30 the excuse was they close at 3. I suppose if you want service with a smile or accuracy you should come first thing. We will never come back. Avoid tipping until the end if you take the risk. They...
