Stopped for lunch prior to heading to the Royal Tyrell Museum. Small joint inside but it was kept clean by staff. I appreciated the separate condiments counter - easy to access whenever we needed anything rather than having to bug staff for same. Washroom was clean as well. The food was quickly made with fresh ingredients. The fries were hot and crispy and served in cute metal baskets, something you would see at a pub, which was nice. I was disappointed that we missed breakfast - apparently we are spoiled with the all day breakfast availability in Calgary. A bigger disappointment was the chubby chicken burger. Flat, thin, fairly dry breaded chicken in a bun with a few pieces of lettuce and mayo. For the high price and for the quality A&W is typically known for - this was an extremely disappointing letdown - I wish we had taken a picture of same. To note, my father cannot eat beef hence we ordered the chicken for him otherwise we would have stuck to the burgers only. The teen burgers we did order were as good as they normally are which was a small saving grace as compared to the overpriced chicken burgers. Staff were quick, efficient, and friendly. Typical fast food joint otherwise. Appreciated that I had coupons to use here otherwise my $30 meal would have...
Read moreThe food was good, especially the onion rings, but my teen burger was a bit overcooked. The taste was fine, but being overcooked, it was a bit dry. It was a busy day since we arrived around 12:30pm, and the tables were not cleaned until we asked, but the staff were super friendly and responsive, and even clued us in on some special deals that were upcoming. Like I said, it was super bust, but the staff were trying their hardest to get everyone served quickly, efficiently and with a smile and an apology for any wait. The dine-in seating isn't super accessible, and the outdoor dining space is right by the drive-thru order board, so not great as you get to breathe in fumes from cars while eating. Overall, not a bad dining experience for a fast food place. I hope...
Read moreWe stop here a lot in summer, occasionally in winter when we travel south. Food cooking and choices are consistent with most A&W.
In summer there’s almost always a lineup but it moves quick.
Tons of parking, no worries there but the layout inside kinda sucks cuz it is a very small A&W and the bathrooms are on the other side of the service counter and when there’s a lineup for ordering you can’t get to the washroom easily. There is only 1 bathroom for each sex and often a lineup for them too so it can be chaotic and crowded!
Despite that, it’s worth the stop and the wait...
