Placed a pick-up order on Jun 14/25. I ordered one combination dinner, (to share with my wife) which included chicken fried rice, chicken chow mein, sweet and sour chicken balls along with 2 spring rolls.
When I opened the take-out container, it appeared there was a huge serving of food which I thought was generous. When I began to divide up the food for my wife and I, we realized it was mostly rice. Sadly, the rice was very dry and the same with the chow mein, plus the chow mein had little to no taste and barely any chicken or vegetables. The sweet & sour chicken balls were mostly batter and there was very little sweet & sour sauce so they were too were dry. Upon pick-up we were only given one packet of soy-sauce and asked for more so the lady gave us an extra two. After we started eating the food, (and me almost choking) my wife decided to scurry back to Diana's and ask for more soy-sauce because the meal was so dry.
The counter area was very cramped and the server at the counter was friendly. Having said all that, you decide. If you like dry food, (and a bunch or soy-sauce for flavor) then maybe this place is for you. As for us, well, sorry to say, we won't come back.
I have to add. Smorgasbord might seem like a good deal for some but I will never go that route again. With all the risk's of people sneezing and coughing over open food, and people with bad cases of dandruff and other dry skin issues falling into the food, no thanks. If we ever eat chinese food again, it will be home-made. Sorry Diana's, but your cooking is no...
Read moreWe had the buffet tonight as this place was recommended to us. I am so disappointed and quite frankly, disgusted. Everything looked like day old leftovers and didn't taste much better. I love wonton soup and I could not eat it. The gingerbeef had good moments interspersed with really weird tasting peices. The chicken balls were good though. My son only ate three chicken balls (for lack of anything appealing to him , and he's not picky) and it cost $13.99. The desserts included jello cubes, some yellow cake with chocolate icing and some white square gelatin thing (nothing was labeled) and some cut up orange and honeydew. For $25 (or whatever it was) per person I expect much better food. The service was good, owners are very nice, but I think this is just a cash grab, heating up frozen prepackaged food and charging a fortune for it because it's a small town and they can. These folks could make a killing if they wanted to put in some effort and hire...
Read moreRecommend from Quality Inn staff. About the buffet. What an excellent choice. Lots to choose from. The ginger beef was just brought out. Hot,crunchy and very tasty. Won ton soup was also good. Then right next to the ginger beef was a deep fried shrimp dish. Also one of the better shrimp dishes I have had. So good I went back two more times. The chicken dish was also little spicy but added to the flavour and taste. Chicken fried rice was good. Lemon fish and some noodle dishes. Pork chops and spare ribs. Restaurant was clean and service top notch. Sat down and waiter was over and took our drink order. Friendly and always cleaning plates off tables. This Chinese buffet ranks amongst the best. Drumheller is very lucky to have a restaurant this good. We will be stopping next time when in area. Right beside Econolodge. Across from Shoppers. Now to go for a walk to relieve...
