Antrée — Restaurant in Alberta

This place is a 💎 gem. I was brought here as a surprise for my birthday, meeting friends from Lethbridge. We drove from YYC. The menu offers the greatest problem one can encounter at a restaurant. What to choose? Soooooo many yummy offerings. The menu itself, the pictures and descriptions, that is, is well done. But the selection of foods and options was phenomenally good and well balanced. Something here for everyone. It makes you make plans to go back to try all the other things you can't have in one sitting on a first visit.

We had a platter of sushi, well assorted and very well done. Japanese beers. We could have easily chose 10 other things, including some Korean fare too. A part of the proceeds for some dishes goes to help the people of North Korea! That tugged at my Cold War Warrior heart strings.

The service was terrific: friendly, informative and helpful. Attentive without being intrusive. So well done. So enjoyable.

I came here many times and always have good food. Today I ordered takeout and got the wrong order when I called back to tell them this is not what I wanted I got yelled at told I can come back and pay for what I wanted and throw the other order out. He then hung up the phone on me. I called back and asked him not to hang up on me as I was being polite annd wanted to resolve this mutually since I come here often he then yelled at me again and told me to order properly yelled some more and hung up the phone on me a second time now I’m stuck eating something I don’t want. I explained to him on the phone as well that when I dine in i always get exactly what I want never had this issue. Also ordered sake and he didn’t want to give it upon pick up had to ask for it and he told me it was 500ml and I got less than 250 ml. Probably not coming back here again that’s for sure, extremely disrespectful.

EDIT: Got a phone call from the general manager super sweet and understanding....

We were refused service. We arrived with our family of 6 for dinner and were told we could not be served because they "were full.". When I pointed out that we had called ahead as it was a birthday dinner for one of us & we wanted to be sure they were open & had space for us and also that only 3 tables were occupied we were told that it was too late at they close at 8:30pm. We mentioned that it was only 7pm and that we would likely be finished our meal well before closing but were asked to leave. Very disappointing. We won't be back.

Edit: There was no mention of staff shortages or that it would be an hour before we could be seated, only that the restaurant was full (it wasn't) and that it was too close to closing (1.5 hours prior). I did call in advance and there was no mention of a 24hr advanced notice requirement for a...
