Backwoods Bakery & Cafè — Restaurant in Alberta

Was very pleasantly surprised when I stopped here on my way through town for a snack. I can only eat gluten free so was hoping for a cookie or some small thing. Well, i was blown away. They had gluten free bread baked in house, that was very soft, and meats roasted in house. Not processed meat! They also had fresh veggies and an assortment of condiments to have a sandwich any way you like it. They even had a gluten free cinnamon bun that was so good I was almost unsure it was actually gluten free!! The staff were very friendly as well. Will definitely be back any time I am through Sundre! This was a nice experience, I came with my kids for an ice cream and some ice coffee. A calm backcountry feel welcomed my family as we walked in. There selection was great, from really good looking desserts to great icecream choices. The atmosphere was great the food was great and the price is what you can expect from a small town cafe (not a TimHortons). I was not disappointed. I reccomend the iced chai latte if your into it. If your stopping by Sundre. definitely make this one...

Home cooked comfort food at its finest. The freshly baked bread is like wholesome childhood on the farm. I had breakfast and lunch while I waited for my dog at the vet. My breakfast was cooked perfectly and the latte was creamy and smooth (no burnt espresso). For lunch I enjoyed a Rueben sandwich with their hearty homemade tomato soup.
