Sundre Hotel Restaurant — Restaurant in Alberta

This review is specifically about the breakfast... my selection was the Eggs Benedict. There was an off flavor to the food (others in our group noticed it too)... don't think it was food related but maybe an odor coming from the cooking fuel or grill needed cleaning.

I shared concerns upon the waitress checking in again and she basically excused it away, then I reiterated my concerns at the time of payment and still nothing was done.

I had managed to eat one of them but the other went to our dog, who also strangely didn't eat it....

We've had the Chinese food several times there, which was good but I have lost interest in supporting this local place since it seems they actually don't care about customer concerns.... and that breakfast...

The place looks great with the reno's but unfortunately on this past Saturday around 11am, it literally took 20 min to get service in which i had to go ask the one of the 3 ladies standing around for water and coffee. Once the food arrived the burger had one pathetic tomato and pickle on it and the cook placed the sunny side up eggs on the pancakes (instead of a side plate) which broke the yolks and ruined the pancakes for the other order. Unfortunately this was not the first time we have exceptionally poor service on the diner side. The Pub side however has excellent western Chinese food (best in Sundre) and...

Classic old, small town, prairie bar. Nothing was wrong or bad. Good service and it's the same food as the coffee shop so it's known for its excellent Western Chinese fare. They have a decent bottled beer selection and nothing on tap. Place is somewhat in need of an update which seems to be in the works, or they just need to embrace it as it's on the verge of appealingly eclectic.
