Coleman is worth pulling off the Highway. Start at Chris’s Restaurant and enjoy authentic small town kindness. This is a very solid 4 star breakfast experience. The service was fast and polite. The food was very good and had that home-cooked aesthetic. After your coffee, steak and eggs; you’ll want to wander around a bit to let things settle and soak up the history. I’ll include a few photos from Main Street to inspire. Walk over to the abandoned coke ovens which made “high octane” coal for trains to burn. They’re beautiful and very interesting. We also popped into the museum and learned about the history of settlers in the area. Check out Coleman and Chris’s Restaurant.

Absolutely loved this restaurant, family friendly environment, word to the wise, come hungry! the helpings for the food here are so filling. No wonder...it has been feeding miners for the past 30 years. nestled in the small town of Coleman, AB. This is in the crowsnest pass and it was a treat to eat here, phone ahead as it is usually full of eager customers after that warm goodness and food cooked with love. Very reasonably priced, breakfasts are very good, homemade syrup is awesome with the pancakes. No masks required, same great service, same great taste and extra servings.

Staying the night in Blairmore so decided to try Chris’ out for dinner. Our server was Desiree(hopefully I spelled it right). She had 10 tables going at once and was still very efficient. We ordered our food just shortly after we got there but waited at least 30 minutes for our meal. My husband ordered the Roast beef dinner with salad. It looked like he got half the cow on his plate. I ordered the bacon burger with fries and gravy. The burger was homemade and it had at least 8 pieces of bacon, too much for me. The meal was absolutely delicious but way too much.

When we arrived, the server stood at the end of the restaurant by the kitchen and told us to come sit there without a "hi. How are you?" or anything. She put down three menus and walked away. I thought, "Oh man, this is going to be a bad experience," but we wanted to give it a chance. We ordered two milkshakes to drink, and they were the best milkshakes ever. They were even served in the silver cup that they were blended in, and it kept it nice and cold. For food, we ordered chicken & fries, a club sandwich & fries, and a chicken sandwich & fries. While our food cooked, the server was running her butt off, answering phones, taking reservations, and serving tables, and she was there alone. She was doing a great job handling the restaurant other than our unfriendly greeting. The food was blah; none of us really liked our food, but it was edible, just not our favorite or a place we would come to again. The fries had no salt or taste, the chicken burger was okay, and my club sandwich was not my favorite; I gave it to my boyfriend to eat. The chicken fingers were not made by mistake of the kitchen, so we had to wait an additional 12 or so minutes for them to cook, so my son just ate his fries. There was no discount on the chicken fingers for not being made with the rest of the meal. By the time they were cooked, we were all wrapping up being done eating, and obviously the chicken fingers were...

What a gem! The Hubs and I stopped in for breakfast, on our way out of a short getaway to the Pass and we are so glad we picked Chris’s! You can tell the locals love this place, and when you walk in and take a seat, you feel as if you’re in your own kitchen, amongst your own friends & family! As for the food, this was hands down, the best breakfast we’ve probably been served ever, anywhere. We’ve travelled a fair bit- as far as Asia and Africa, Caribbean and Mexico, so that’s saying something. I sunk my pearly whites into thee thickest, fluffiest French toast that has ever played upon my palette, alongside a very generous and juicy ham steak. The Hubs has ordered classic bacon & eggs and also had to help me with my ginormous undertaking! I don’t eat bacon, but it appeared ( and the Hubs can attest ) that it was cooked to perfection with a beautiful side of home style, real fried potato hash browns. Excellent food quality, fast service and a warm, inviting atmosphere. This jewel has it all! Pop in and check it out for yourself-you’ll...

All I can say is that there food is fantastic . There burgers water in your mouth. Everything there is absolutely fantastically delicious, it’s always hot. You definitely get your bang for you buck here. The staff are friendly and I know them well. The'll ask how your day is or how are you doing and come back 2 or 3 times to check on you. Now days you don’t find these hidden gems that much anymore. Yes, the burgers are freshly made not prefrozen. All the food is home made. Ya, all I can say is a great place. Cute little dinner two. Don’t get me started on there milk shakes, some times well just stop by to get one in summer instead of going to the ice cream shop. The have about 40 kinds you can get, I know right. Food and dinners and burgers will always have a place in my heart oh sorry I mean my...
