I discovered this bakery last year. The almonds croissants were amazing and prompted me to stop in there whenever I passed. However, on the last couple of visits, it's become apparent that the Homestead bakery has succumbed to 'shrinkflation'. The baked goods have shrunk by at least 20% and there's less filling in the almond croissants and less chocolate in the pain au chocolate. The girl at the checkout even agreed they were smaller now, but didn't know why! The Vanilla Strip - Was very well presented a very good photo worthy desert. Both the vanilla cream and jam that were in the sandwich were quite good and not overly sugary, just the right balance. Would approach it with a fork cause eating it by hand made quite the mess and squished the contents put the sides.
The Careot Cake - Very goes cream cheese icing that carried the cake itself. The spiced cake portion was more subtle than I like, but that's personal preference.
