I recently visited to pick up an order via Skip, and it turned out to be one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had. The process for pickup involves ringing a bell, and then a staff member hands over the order. Simple enough, right?
Well, not quite. I rang the bell three times, waited for exactly 10 minutes, and no one came to assist me. During this time, I watched all of the employees walk around, glancing at me, yet not one bothered to help. It felt like I was invisible. After waiting patiently, I finally decided to approach a staff member, only to find out that my order had actually been sitting on the table right in front of me the entire time. It was there from the moment I walked in!
When I brought this up to the employee, he casually explained that they "didn’t hear the bell." However, I had been standing right outside the door and could clearly hear the bell ringing, so that was clearly not the case. To make things worse, when I mentioned how the food was now cold from sitting there for so long, the employee didn’t offer any apology. Instead, he argued with me and even said that he would file a complaint about my complaint. Honestly, it felt like he was more concerned about shifting blame than addressing the issue.
The whole situation is frustrating because, as a courier, I rely on these pickups being smooth and efficient. The food was ready when I got there, but they refused to hand it over, causing unnecessary delays. I ended up waiting far too long, and by the time I left, the food was cold, which could result in a poor review from the customer — something that could have been avoided with a little attention and care.
This kind of behavior not only makes the delivery process stressful for couriers, but it also impacts the restaurant’s reputation in the long run. I hope they work on improving communication and customer service, because this experience was a major letdown. Would not recommend for...
Read moreLet me preface by saying I have NEVER walked out of a restaurant without paying, but tonight I did for the first time ever. We arrived right around 6PM on a Tuesday evening (table of two) and were finally addressed and seated after standing there for 10 minutes. There was no more than 15 tables total in the restaurant, two of which were parties of 6-8 and the rest 4 or less. By no means was it "busy". After sitting for about 8 minutes, we were finally visited by our server and ordered drinks and food right away since we had already decided. We got our appetizer about 10 minutes later, and then our drinks a minute or two after as the server "forgot" them. We still gave her the benefit of the doubt at this point and figured she was new. Our food arrived a good 30 minutes later - two steaks which we ordered rare. One was medium well and tough as leather, the other was about a medium rare-medium, but had a HUGE tendon going right through the center lengthwise. It was uncuttable and inedible. We both placed our steaks on a side plate at the edge of the table to send them back when our server returned... which she did not. We waited about 30 minutes longer and nobody ever came to check on us. We counted SIX servers and two bartenders working... again, maybe 15 tables total were occupied. Not a single person acknowledged us or the steaks sitting at the end of the table next to the aisle. I tried to wave down two different servers but was ignored. We got up and left, leaving the horrible inedible food sitting there on the table. We arrived just after 6PM, and walked out at 7:47PM. 1 hour and 45 minutes for a table of two at a fast casual chain, and we left hungry, ignored, and annoyed. I would have been fired if I ignored a table, let alone a table with STEAKS, for half an hour without checking on them when I was a server. Absolutely terrible...
Read moreWorst service at a Montanas I’ve ever been too. And I’ve been double charged before. My order has been wrong before. But never have a walked into a restaurant and immediately felt uncomfortable. My entire family was made to feel uncomfortable right off the bat. The host/server sat my family of 5 (3kids) right beside the kitchen doors when there were only 3 others tables in the whole restaurant. She walked away and didn’t not once again give me eye contact or any other smile or service. Our actual Server didn’t interact with my children or even greet us properly. After my children got food and my hubby and I got our appetizer we were not asked about our main course. My children were not asked how there meal was and we had to ask our server twice for crayons for our kids. And to top it all off. After it was made very away that we were uncomfortable. The manager and servers stood behind us the entire time at their server bar where they roll cutlery and stared at us the entire time. As a server and bartender who know the industry. I believe them to be unprofessional and disrespectful. My children enjoy coming to Monatanas for the fun atmosphere and the good food. We were all very dissatisfied with their service and atmosphere that the servers and managers gave off. We had employees stand right beside our table and observing the entire restaurant making our meal very uncomfortable. To bat other families with children were sat at the booths and other comfortable tables while we were overlooked. First off I thought it was a seating mistake. Maybe this was the next server in rotation so I shrugged it off. Nope other viable tables were sat right after us. Please prevent this Montanas and drive the 20 minutes to the south side one in Edmonton where my family has continuously had...
