We had family down from Nova Scotia and they wanted to come to the Sawmill. We came to the Leduc location and once we arrived the host immediately said she wasn't sure if we could be seated as they were very busy but there were several available tables and no one waiting at the door. I looked in the lounge and there were a few open tables. I asked her if we could sit at a particular empty booth and she said she'll check. She went into the lounge didn't clear or clean the table and then came back 6 minutes later to tell us we would have to wait. I asked her isn't the lounge self seating and she said no. While we were waiting two groups of different people went and sat themselves in the lounge. I then went and asked the bartender if we weren't able to sit at the table and she said we could but it needed to be cleaned. No one cleaned the table for us so I started to clear it myself as none of the staff was willing to do it even though none of them appeared stressed or busy in the least. I was a server for many years and was taken back with the poor attitudes and lack of customer service or ability to do a simple task. The host eventually sat us at a different table in view of the table I had asked for and had cleared the glasses off myself. I asked the bartender a second time if we were not able to sit at that table and she said it needed to be wiped first. I asked her for a cloth as obviously not one employee was willing to take 30 seconds to wipe the table down. She said she'd get someone to do it and to just wait at the other table until it was done. While we were waiting 2 gentlemen came in the lounge and were going to sit at the table I had cleared so I stood up and the lady told them we were moving there and they'd have to pick a different table. When we were finally sat there we were not greated or attended to. We sat there for 27 min and still no one acknowledged us to even say so and so will be right with you. We ended up leaving and going to the sawmill in Edmonton where we were promptly greated and treated properly. Our bill ended up being $400 and I will never recommend anyone to the Leduc location or spend my money there while being treated like that. You could get better treatment at a low end restaurant. The service should reflect the prices and it was very disappointing to...
Read moreThis restaurant is a FIND! My family and I just moved to Edmonton from Vancouver Island and we stayed at a nearby hotel while waiting to receive our house keys. I asked a local where to find a good steak and was directed to avoid several places and go HERE. We were so mind blown by the food that we returned the next evening and brought our drivers to thank them for moving us. I am that person who asks to try a bite of everyone else's food because I always want to know how things are: the ribeye was even more tender than the tenderloin! WHAT??? The prime rib beat anything any of us have ever tried and this says a lot as I am originally from Vancouver and ate at Gotham's, Hy's and Elisa regularly. The beef in Alberta is unrivalled to begin with, but this place knocked it out of the park on all levels. The mushrooms caps were deadly, as were the wagyu meatballs, and our East Coast friend said his Oscar was better seafood than he used to eat on the East Coast! The atmosphere was extremely welcoming and the wine list, cocktails, etc did not disappoint. The price point was great as well, we were actually shocked at how reasonable the bills were considering we ordered everything and had really nice wines. Then we get to the most fun part of the evening, our waiter, Pat. Old school gent from Quebec, he was hilarious, charming, he made it feel like we were old friends and family members. I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant. My husband and I have decided we will send friends there as soon as the exit the airport so we have an excuse to eat there frequently when we pick our friends up. 10 out of 10 all the way. I wish I had...

4 of my co-workers and myself came to the Sawmill Leduc to celebrate a staff members birthday. We arrived shortly after 12pm on Wednesday, September 25th and were immediately greeted by the Hostess. She sat 4 of us while he waited on 1 more to arrive.
We waited until our joiner arrived before placing our order, which was at 12:25pm. One guest at the table ordered a soup to start; now having 15+ years in the service industry I understood that appetizers can typically hold up the entrée portion, but French Onion Soup 1) shouldn’t take 20 minutes to come out on its own and 2) shouldn’t delay the entrees another 30 minutes after the soup is served.
We were the 3rd table in there (with 6 tables total during the lunch “hour”) and every single table was served before us, even though we had ordered before them. When I asked about how much longer our food would be, Madison, our server seemed annoyed (also note, it was like she had been avoiding us, knowing our food was taking a while, without any acknowledgement or an apology on the food taking so long for a while now) and said she would check.
At 1:07pm she came back and said “they are just plating it.” We did not receive our entrees food until 1:18pm which from experience it shouldn’t take 11 minutes to plate 5 entrees.
After paying for the bill, Madison said we could remain at the table if we wanted. There was no “thank you” for coming in. No “see you next time”. This was the worst customer service experience I’ve...
