Upon arrival we noticed that in the reception area that all of the garbage cans were overflowing.
We checked in and then took the elevator to the 3rd floor. As soon as we arrived on the 3rd floor where our room was located, we all noticed a terrible strong, pungent smell.
Walking to our room, it was so strong that it was unbearable and caused us all to be ill. We noticed other guests holding their noses while walking from their room on the 3rd floor towards the elevator as we passed them.
As soon as we got to our room, I immediately called down to the front desk to ask if we could move our room to a different floor. The front desk person immediately asked to put us on hold as soon as he picked up the phone. He didn't actually put us on hold, but just set the phone down on the desk while he was helping another customer. I waited over a half hour and he never picked up the phone, and I could hear him check out 3 different guests and check in 2 others.
I got tired of waiting, so I hung up the phone and headed back down to the reception desk to ask if we could change rooms.
Upon asking to change rooms and explaining the reasons why due to the smell, there was no apology or acknowledgment on what the source of the smell was whatsoever. They did manage to find another room on the 2nd floor for us, but needed my wife's signature to authorize the room transfer. I asked them to call the room where my wife was paitently waiting. They called the room, and my daughter answered. They started explaining that they needed her to come down to sign the paperwork, after explaining that to my daughter. My daughter said to hold on while she got my wife on the phone. They hung up on my daughter before my wife got to the phone.
I waited another 1/2 hour for my wife to come and sign the papers, because she didn't get the message. I texted my wife and she came to sign the papers. The second floor did not have the stink, but the new room had a broken heater/Air Conditioner which did not work.
We also noticed that Guest laundry services were out of order as well.
After 3 hours of staying at the hotel, and leaving to go for dinner, we noticed that the garbages still were overflowing and not cleaned up.
The next day during breakfast, they had the thinest paper plates to use and no waffle machine, even though all the waffle stuff was there.
I have the hotel booked and paid for oue return trip and unfortunately will eat the costs of the room and will book a new room somewhere else. I won't be staying at this particular hotel ever again. It has definitely gone downhill since the last time we stayed there.
Overall the staff were very rude and the hotel itself is...
Read moreI honestly don’t understand how this hotel maintains a 4-star rating. After a disappointing first stay, I gave Hampton by Hilton in Leduc another chance since the manager offered me a complimentary night to “make it right.” Unfortunately, this stay turned out even worse.
We arrived at 4:30 pm (check-in is at 3 pm), only to be told our room was not ready—again. I asked to speak to the manager and was told he would only be available tomorrow. Instead, we were placed in a different room, but that room was missing the body mirror/closet door entirely. When I called the front desk to be switched to the original booked room, they finally moved us there around 5:30 pm.
It was obvious the room had only been “quick cleaned.” There were hairs all over the bed, an empty blanket bag tossed by the couch, and when I pulled out the hide-a-bed, the previous guest’s blanket was still on it. To make things worse, two of the four bathroom lights were burnt out, and the wallpaper was peeling off the wall.
The disappointments continued. The hot tub was out of order and left sitting full of dirty, disgusting water. When I asked about it, I was told it wouldn’t be fixed until Tuesday. Breakfast was equally disappointing: the juice and water machine was broken, there was no butter available, and when the staff brought out a “fresh” pan of eggs, they were cold.
Service from the front desk was no better. When I tried again to speak with the manager, I was told by Allison (who was very rude) that he wasn’t in that day either. I asked for a late checkout since we didn’t get into our room until much later than expected, but Allison refused, saying our stay was complimentary and the hotel was fully booked.
Overall, this hotel has serious issues:
Poor management – the manager is never available when there are problems.
Unclean rooms – rooms are clearly not properly cleaned between guests.
Poor maintenance – broken lights, peeling wallpaper, and an out-of-order hot tub.
Disappointing service – rude and dismissive staff.
Subpar breakfast – machines out of service, no butter, and cold food.
The manager may have tried to make things right by offering a free night, but this experience was worse than the first. I would highly recommend staying elsewhere. This hotel simply does not live up to the...
Read moreLets cut to the chase. Justin and Chris. Two bigger beauties of life I have never met in my life. My tired ass walks through the door after a crazy stint, late, needing to be up early and after less than 20 seconds (I guarantee these two epic gems could crack 9 seconds flat) I felt like I had made 2 new lifelong friends, who went way above and beyond what any hotel staff I have ever met before in my life could ever do. Forgot my cell charger at home and everything was closed? They Both offered me theirs so I wouldn't miss my early alarm! Were very kind to my wife and 18 mo old son, who also took to them in seconds. Issues with my cell phone google account? Instantly went from hotel staff to tech support and fixed in 3 mins! Barely had time to make a coffee and it was fixed!!! Welcoming, kind, hilarious and genuine only scratches the surface. Yes, the room was clean, and the bed was comfy, and no hair on the toilet seat. Yes the ice machine worked, and the A/C was quiet and great! Yes the breakfast was good, and the coffee wasn't burnt. Most hotels can guarantee at least this much. But No other hotel has Chris and Justin, and because of that, as long as those two are running the show there, I'll stay there, as I will again in another 5 days. Justin, Chris; Thank you. The peace of mind and kindness you gave myself and my family will not be forgotten, and I shall shamelessly boast about you two to anyone who will listen. Thanks again for accommodating us and also keeping an eye open on the parking lots for all of us sleepy travellers so we don't have to sleep light worrying about our vehicles. Tell management to call me so I can tell them "live" how great you are. See you this weekend, with bells on! Rich, Vee...
