Terry's Royal Pizza — Restaurant in Alberta

This review is solely based on service.

My kids get to pick whatever they want to eat for their birthday supper. My son picked Royal Pizza this year. We planned our family birthday supper for Sunday. I checked with Google to ensure you were opened on Sundays, which it states that you are 4 pm - 8 pm. I even checked on the morning of the Sunday we were having the birthday supper to double check. I start calling at 4:05 pm. to place my order, but there is no answer. No voicemail picked up either. I checked your Facebook page to see if there was a post about being closed and nothing. I tried a few times and decided to drive into town to place my order in person because I needed to drive into town to pick up the pizza anyway. Once I arrive around 4:45 pm, I can see you're closed.

I completely understand that sometimes small businesses need to close for whatever reason. With that said, I think you also have an obligation as a business owner catering to the public to take an extra step or two to notify potential customers if you are going to close outside your normal operation hours. A simple Facebook post would have been sufficient, considering you need to view the menu on Facebook. I also recommend updating your hours on Google when possible, or the very least a recording on the phone, letting customers know...

They say either you go big or you go home... hungry. Well, I definitely went Big; And their Jumbo Beef Donair was .... JUMBO! Owner Dana warned me it was so big, that they didn’t have a plate large enough and she wasn’t exaggerating! It was about 18 inch of total deliciousness 🙂

I asked her what sauce she prefers and she let me in on a secret combination ... sweet sauce mixed with garlic donair sauce. Her advice was spot on. The donair was so good with the generous amounts of fresh lettuce, tomato, onions, green peppers, pickles, olives, donair meat and cucumbers.

This Jumbo donair is plenty enough to share, but great enough if you want to skip breakfast, lunch and indulge 😉

Donair was great... customer service was horrible....one person took my order was great...when I returned to pick up my order he was gone and a younger man was there. He chastised me for not leaving my phone number despite the fact it was a walk in order...not over the phone.

He did it in front of several customers. I apologized and stated I wasn't aware my phone number was required when I walked in to place the order. He said that I know for next time.....

Sadly as long as he is there...there will NOT be a next time...donairs might be good...but if isn't worth the abuse. We won't be back.

Get your staff some soft skill training...or get him away...
