The George Traditional House- Okotoks — Restaurant in Alberta

This is the 3rd time in a month I have been disappointed with either the food or the service or both. We went to dine in, a week and a half ago and there was an Oilers game and to be fair it was extremely busy. We were patient, the service was slow (that’s fair). We ordered a pizza to eat in and some chicken strips to take home. We waited over an hour and they brought out the chicken strips (which were packed for take out). We were told the pizza takes longer than the chicken and they left our take out order with us knowing we had a pizza we were eating in. 20 mins later our pizza showed up and it was delicious (the sitting chicken strips, fries and gravy went in the garbage when we got home)

Fast forward to today we order delivery, and the pizza was inedible. It was stuck to the paper on the bottom of the box, the only thing that kept it from completely falling apart was the piece of paper attached and stuck to the bottom of the complete mush of a “crust”. To give an idea, the paper and pizza had become one. It looked as though they had taken a can of pineapple and dumped it right in the centre under the cheese which didn’t help matters. I was planning on just letting go of the awful pizza until we went to share our Oreo New York Cheesecake. First, there appeared to be some sort of milk in a container (maybe this was supposed to be whip cream but when you package it on top of a pizza that is sweating it is going to turn to liquid, the chocolate sauce was warm though). Half of the crust was missing off the bottom of the cheesecake (maybe this is where the Oreo crust was supposed to be? But if you are ordering this don’t expect the Oreo crust that is advertised.

We used to really enjoy this place. In fact this used to be one of our go to spots for dine in and take out. It’s unfortunate because we know the potential it has. But at this point I won’t be throwing any more of my money away to support your...

When we first discovered the George it was our go to place for delicious schnitzel, pizza, fries & gravy ect. We gave it a few more shots. We went at lunch time and got the chicken sandwhich, 3 of us at the table had this and we all were dissappinted by how tough and chewy the chicken was, texture was like chicken jerky, no dressing on the bread it was so dry and needed some kind of sauce. We left, decided to try again one night recently for dinner had schnitzel with mushrooms instead of veggies with the mashed potatoes which I’ve had before and were delicious creamy and not in giant balls. Unfortunatley this time the gravy was chunky and tasted off, the mushrooms tasted like they were cooked the day before and re heated also tasted off, they brought me 3 giant ice cream scoops of potato apparently they thought I wanted extra potato which the server said “wow somebody likes potato” I did not ask for extra, these mashed potatoes were so awfully dry even with the gravy and the kicker was the hair I found under my piece of schnitzel, completely lost all appetite. The server didn’t even say anything when taking a whole plate of food away and to be honest I didn’t bother either because at that point I didn’t want anything else just the bill to leave. I had the pleasure of dining at George's Traditional House in Okotoks, Alberta, and I must say that the experience was made truly memorable by our server, Cassidy. From the moment we arrived, Cassidy greeted us with a warm smile and genuine enthusiasm that made us feel right at home.

Throughout our meal, Cassidy exhibited an impressive knowledge of the menu, effortlessly guiding us through the various options and making thoughtful recommendations based on our preferences. Her passion for the food was evident, and she ensured that we understood all the unique flavors that George's has to offer.

Not only was Cassidy attentive, checking in on us at all the right moments, but she also created a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere that made our dining experience feel special. She went above and beyond to accommodate our requests, and her friendly demeanor made it easy to connect with her.

The food itself was delicious, but Cassidy's exceptional service truly elevated our experience. It’s rare to find a server who balances professionalism with a personal touch so effortlessly, and she made sure our visit was perfect from start to finish.
