Three of us decided to try this restaurant for the second time we had a bad experience the first time last year, upon delivering the coffee, I did not get a spoon or asked if I wanted sugar or cream. Iām assuming itās because I had a shot on the side of Baileys However, you should still ask. Itās good service. The waitress brought out two of our lobster rolls, one was specifically asked for gluten-free bun, because she gets deathly sick eating gluten,& Another waitress actually brought her plate out 5 mins or so after we had already started eating,& I didnāt notice until she was halfway through her bun because the two of them were sitting across from me that their buns were the same, and mine was different because I had actually gotten the gluten-free bun because the waitress didnāt pay attention,& When we brought it to her attention, she said no I gave you the right plate. I brought the other two out for you guys that weāre not eating the gluten-free and basically outright accused us of switching plates.,& I donāt even like gluten-free and I got stuck eating it,& Never came back once to see if there was anything else we needed with the meal or how the meal was, No ketchup offered for the fries, etc.. We ordered gravy to share. We got two gravy and no spoon to dish it out with.& And then at the end when we went to pay, she said, do you even want change? Yes we want change. We definitely not tipping for some service. That was the worst I ever had in my entire life.!!šš³š«¢ Much less which waitress does not count back your change and ask you if you want change š³hello?! This will be the first bad review Iāve ever left in my life by the way, but it was worth leaving. The service sucked. The attitude of the waitress was horrible. When all she had to do was just go get another bun she offered to do after we said we didnāt switch the plates and she gets deathly sick if itās not gluten-free some people choose gluten-free because they think itās an option they prefer, but this isnāt a preference. This was a medical reason which really pissed me off that waitress would have the audacity to call us liars and she didnāt say liar. She just said I brought out the correct plates and we said well we certainly didnāt switch them and she did not bring the correct plates. The plate was supposed to be gluten-free and thatās not up to the customer to figure out which one is gluten-free the waitress is supposed to realize if thereās one plate gluten-free make sure thatās the plate you donāt screw up!! We received a dollar discount and my friend was sick most of the night over this and I thought Iām leaving a review for once this was just horrible! Oh, and I wouldāve liked another coffee and we were going to stay for dessert until this happened. However we dropped her $140 for the meal -$1 discount $139 and we did not leave a tip for the first time in our life. Iām tired of tipping people that treat you this way at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe visited on day one. They had just opened. The seating was not comfortable. We could choose and booth that looked home made(nothing wrong with that) but with no padding, and the backs looked like leaned back at an uncomfortable angle. I have back issues. We choose the steel chairs. The also have an outdoor deck with picnic tables. Very spacious. And lots of windows. The ceiling is high.(the huge light s were unexpected but interesting)Because of this it echoed. Noises seemed exaggerated... food menu was somewhat minimal. Being in a fishing community I expected to see more fish choices. Also not many" lighter" choices. And the " homemade" menus that the previous restaurant served are gone. We are not big eaters so some smaller choices would have been nice. We choose to share the clams and fries. Portions were pretty big. Nothing impressive with the fries. Just typical frozen. Would have maybe have liked a choice of fresh cut. The clams were good. But nothing special. Staff seemed pleasant. But could have been a little more attentive. We wouldn't hurry back but might try them again after they have been open for a while. If your looking for home cooking. This isn't for you. But if portions and locations are important. Then I would say yes. They also do have handy cap parking and are wheelchair accessible. Parking lot was paved and looked like plenty of it. Although we didn't go any farther then the first few spots.. I want to wish them good luck. They could be an asset...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis restaurant was a pleasant surprise. It's located in the very small village of Alma, New Brunswick. We were greeted with a warm reception that made us feel welcomed. I was surprised how diverse the menu was. We were so hungry that we started off with the Rudder Bread, which is their version of bruschetta. I could have eaten this all night long. For dinner, I selected the stirfry and my guest chose the Captain Burger. Both entrees were of wide range of great flavors and textures. They were also made with fresh ingredients and the burger was cooked perfectly. This restaurant also serves beer and my friend tried the Champ APA. He loved it so much that he had another. Restaurant is quite large, very clean and so were the bathrooms. There is ample parking and also street parking. This is a very small town so it can get quite busy. We saw this town while on the way to Hopewell Rocks and it was so picturesque that we decided to stop on our way back. It's worth taking a stop in Alma and into the Muddy Rudder. There are a couple souvenier shops, hotels and you can witness the tide/water completely leave the docks. I highly recommend and...
