Terrible service, terrible food. We had the absolute WORST service here. We were so excited for a local eatery with fresh seafood. That being said we arrived as a group of 10 (6 children all together). We had made reservations ahead of time due to the size of our group and to give staff notice. We waited for AN HOUR AND A HALF for our food with 6 children. Yes the staff was busy, BUT the kicker was there were actually couples coming, ordering, getting their food and LEAVING before we even got our food. One of these couples even stopped by our table on their way out to tell us they were very impressed with the little ones for such a shockingly long wait. I attempted to track down and ask a waitress (cuz none came to our table after our order was put in!) about the wait and mentioned the little ones were getting impatient but she very rudely brushed me off and walked away mid-sentence!! When the food did arrive the seafood chowder was runny had huge CHUNKS of fish (haddock?) and very very few small scallops. That is IT! No lobster, clam or any other bit of seafood one would expect to find in a SEAFOOD chowder. The fish tasted as though it had sat in the grease the entire wait. We didn’t even get asked about refills ONCE ! If you’re that busy you can’t service your guests properly, turn them away. As a proud east coaster, save your money (and time) there are much much better seafood establishments with better food AND the proud east coast hospitality the maritimes are known for. For what it’s worth this is the first time I’ve ever left a bad review for a restaurant, that’s just how badly our...

ordered the lobster roll platters, for my husband and I today, very disappointed in the portion of the lobster roll, very skimpy, it was good, but lacking on the lobster meat! we've had it before and it was very good. The French fries were home cut, the skins on, they were basically potato skins and all cut up tiny, eventhough they were hot, but only a few were long! the coleslaw was not good at all, I didn't eat it, it tasted like those bag coleslaws you'd get from a grocery store and add dressing, it tasted perfumey and like it was breaking down. The waitress was very nice but found her kind of scattered. I asked for a glass of water, and noticed as I took a sip, there was lipstick residue on the glass, I just pushed it aside and bought a drink. we have eaten here before and had good food. So I don't know what was going on, I do remember from last year that I didn't eat the coleslaw for that same reason, yes, the waitress seemed anxious cause after she delivered our plates, less than 2 or 3 minutes she returned to asked us if everything was OK, well I only had eaten 2 fries, and just nodded ok, then never saw her again until we got our bill. yes, we ate the rolls, and picked out the better portions of the thinly sliced potatoes, we were tired and hungry, and it was our fault not to say anything, it's too bad, for its a nice place. and it was not busy. we waited for a bit at the door before we were acknowledged too. Any way, the waitress seemed to be a very nice lady. after all she was friendly, but I think other factors...

We drove nearly an hour out of the way eager to try out this resturant since the menu and pictures online looked fantastic. After telling our server we were a group of 7 (4 adults & three kids) she rolled her eyes and gestured to two tables that were next to each other and told us "you can sit there" then immediately walked away to the bar saying "but you can't move them together". We are all standing around the tables confused and I asked the question to clarify sure I had misheard her since shesort of muttered it under her breath as she walked away asking "We CAN'T move them together?" While she was standing at the bar - to which she replied "Nope!"

We left since the attitude she was giving off we were unlikely to have the experience we were looking to give our out of province company that we were hosting and had just bragged about the incredible east coast hospitality you find in New Brunswick and how the people were just kinder here.

Tipsy Tails couldn't seat us either but we were greeted with staff happy to make recommendations on other places to try that might have availability. We ended up at the muddy rudder where we all decided would be worth the two hour drive from home for the steak and...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I stopped in at Alma’s Boathouse and ordered a BLT with a cup of seafood chowder—and I have to say, it was hands down the best I’ve ever had. I’m not exaggerating one bit. The BLT came out stacked just right: crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, juicy tomato, and the bread… oh wow, the bread alone could have been its own meal. Perfectly toasted, fluffy inside, and full of flavor. But the real star? That seafood chowder. Omg. Creamy, rich, full of fresh flavor, and packed with chunks of seafood that made every bite worth savoring. It’s one of those soups you wish you could take home by the gallon. The atmosphere was cozy, service was friendly, and everything felt like it was made with care. I left full, happy, and already planning when I can come back. If you’re anywhere near Alma’s Boathouse, do yourself a favor and order the chowder. You won’t regret it.

Alma Boathouse Restaurant is a must-visit gem, family-owned and run by incredibly welcoming, friendly folks who make you feel like part of the clan. The food is insanely good, with their famous lobster rolls stealing the show—packed with fresh, sweet lobster from the Bay of Fundy, served on a buttery bun or garlic toast, perfectly highlighting the pristine flavor. The chowder cup is another standout, a creamy, seafood-packed delight loaded with scallops, shrimp, fish, and clams in a rich, lobster bisque-infused broth that’s hearty yet light, often called the best in the Maritimes. Save room for dessert, because the strawberry rhubarb crisp is a tart-sweet masterpiece that ties the meal together beautifully. For a cozy, unforgettable dining experience, this place is perfection!
