Wharfside Patio — Restaurant in Alma

I gave it 2 stars as the location is good, and the food was good, but the service was horrible. Our orders were wrong, food was not brought even close to the same time and a lot was missing and had to be reordered. The prices were high and when ordering clams not only was price high, quantity was small. The waitress was the long dark hair was incredibly rude and when asked why she became defensive and then nasty. I witnessed this at the table next yo me and was horrified when a man at the next table asked why she was being so rude, she said something about a table of 17 sitting next to them, who had left some time before his comment. And at one point she called him nasty. I was surprised she didnt just apologize as in client service the customer is always right. I did not witness him do anything nasty. He was just there with his wife and 2 young children. She asked if he wanted dessert and he replied he was still waiting for his lobster roll. Again she didn't apologize but said it would be right up, but she had obviously forgotten it. We ordered 2 fish and chips but got only, so we shared it and left since getting the first one took some time. We were not impressed, so for the first time in my life we did not leave a tip. I'm not sure the server will learn anything from this as she seemed very unaware. If I were the owner I would not want someone like this turning away...

They close at 9pm or so I was told when I called that afternoon... We walk in at 8:05pm and look up at the takeout menu. Before we can get a word in edge wise, a rude female employee working the counter says "the kitchen's closed"! Not even an "I'm sorry but the kitchen is closed for the night"... All in the delivery and that was poor customer service period!

...So we went to Sapranos Pizza. Wanted to spread the business around but I'm happy to give it to an establishment that wants and appreciates it (for a 2nd night in a row).

I guess I should also mention the Alma Lobster Shop (closes at 8pm) stayed open 30 minutes late so my son and another family could have fresh maritime lobster for the first time.

​Lots of good seafood options in the menu given the location of the place. Enjoyed the seafood platter, clam chowder, and lobster sandwich served in reasonable portions. The college-age staff who took our orders was friendly and patient but the middle-aged lady who served our meals was grumpy and was screaming her delivery as she did not know which table to serve them. Outdoor dining area is scenic with the view of the water but infested with some really pesky flies. Better to just take your...
