This was my first time dining in at Haru. I showed up at 3pm and hadn't eaten breakfast yet. I splurged as I ordered asparagus tempura, yam tempura rolls, veggie yakisoba, and nestea. After tax and a 20 percent tip I paid $44. This meal was absolutely delicious. I am getting hungry just from writing this. The rolls are huge. The asparagus tempura was crunchy. The veggie yakisoba had that perfect flavour. I highly recommend their menu if you come here. They know what they are doing.

We were passing by and stopped to eat here. We ordered salmon donburi. The waitress was very nice and kind but mispronounced the name of some of the dishes. The donburi it self was placed on a plate rather than a bowl and on the side of the salmon 🤨. We had some sake. I didn't ask the brand but it was ok. The waitress kindly asked if we wanted soy sauce and chopsticks 🄢 were ok (I was wondering on my head if in this town salt on their fries šŸŸ and cutlery šŸ“ is optional šŸ¤”?

Greta little place! Somewhat hidden around the corner at the Askews strip mall but worth the trip! The waitress was pleasant to deal with and smiling while I asked questions and ordered. The food came out fairly quickly and was delicious! I had the chicken bento box! Plenty of food, left feeling comfortably full. The atmosphere is clean and happy! Enjoyed my visit and will make a trip again some time!

I used to love Haru sushi four years ago, the quality of food was above and beyond, sadly not the case anymore. (I think because the original people opened a new place in Vernon) I get that inflation is high so I understand the price increase but the quality is lacking. The tempura was swimming in grease and slightly over cooked. The dipping sauce again tasted super watered down. My husbands chicken curry looked good, till he got to the bottom of the bowl, which was again swimming in oil. My veggie yakisoba lacked flavour but was still decent, just a very small portion for what you pay. The veggie cold noodle salad again tasted watered down and lacked flavour but the texture was good! The only thing that had quality flavour was the miso soup. Also lay off the MSG, its good but it’s not going to replace quality.

The girls serving were friendly but lacked experience and didn’t seem to care about their job. They didn’t seat us when we stood at the door, and had to walk up to the counter. Which then they told us to sit anywhere. They eventually told us that the high chairs were over there in the corner, which at typical restaurants they bring you one. They took a while to bring us a couple menus but eventually did. Asked us what we would like to drink, and placed our pop cans on the table. (Usually they give you a cup of ice with it.) I can’t hate too much because I’ve been their age working in the food industry. Overall they were friendly but they just needed a little guidance on how to do things properly.

The whole place seems poorly managed and lacking any sort of passion or direction in what kind of place this is. I would know because I’m also a business owner and I know what it’s like to lose passion especially after covid etc. You need someone in there front of house that’s a manager. I wouldn’t have a table so close to the till counter, the white couch chairs are comfy but doesn’t suit the atmosphere. I also make a seating area for people waiting for pick up. You lost a group because one guy was waiting at a table for four. I hope you take my words into consideration šŸ™

Edit: I’ve changed my rating because I respect and appreciate the response the owner gave me. I’ve had many good experiences in the past with this restaurant. I understand the raising food costs and feel for your business. ā¤ļø All the best...

Sat down to a sticky table and old reused wooden chopsticks that have clearly spent most of their time submerged in dishwater. Prices 15-20% higher than most sushi places. Only 1 combo to choose from and the "nigiri" is just tamago (egg) and inarizushi (rice wrapped in fried tofu). The spicy salmon and spicy tuna rolls were the same identical brown color with identical really fishy flavours, questioning if either were actually salmon or tuna or even within expiration date. Wasabi clearly came out of the tube. Waitress tried to charge us for an additional roll we didn't order.

Overall terrible experience, complete waste of money and disgusting food. All the positive reviews on this place are from people who've clearly never been to a good sushi restaurant. Don't go here if you have any respect for yourself, it's actually incredible this place passed inspections. Go at your own risk.

Edit: After researching health and safety reports this place has had 6 minor infractions and 3 critical infractions in 2022 alone; including improper handling of food, storage/freezing/thawing.

Google wont let me post the link but feel free to check health and...

A hidden Gem!!! We came in from Kamloops and had no idea what we wanted to have for dinner so we parked to discuss….and looked up and saw their sign. Hmmmmm sushi? Ok lets try this place.

Its a bit hidden but once you find it, it is lovely inside, friendly and we had a fantastic dinner. The ā€œheart attacksā€ (large jalapeƱos stuffed with tuna, cream cheese, fried and topped with a spicy sauce and a sweet teriyaki sauce and green onions were awesome—4 in a portion!!! We had no idea and ordered 4 portions but lucky us we have lots for the next day. Agedashi tofu was excellent and topped with benito, green onions and kelp with a perfect sauce. The scallop roll with sauteed bean sprouts was unique but very bland—needs a drizzle of that yummy sweet teriyaki and some green onion šŸ˜‰. Dynamite rolls, salmon roll and tuna roll were great. We did ask for extra ginger and wasabi but unfortunately didn’t get much of each. Everything beautifully presented even in our to go boxes! Well done guys! Looking forward to stopping by again soon this...
