Ginger's Cupcakes & Desserts — Restaurant in Aurora

We ordered three small cakes from Ginger's Cupcakes & Desserts Aurora for our wedding in August 2019.

It was such a pleasure to work with Amanda. I really appreciated all the prompt emails, especially since we decided to order the cakes only 1 month before our wedding. We picked up the tasting cupcakes from the Richmond Hill location, but the final cake order was made through the Aurora location.

Our wedding cake was an 8-inch 4-layer chocolate cake with raspberry swiss meringue buttercream. I forgot to specifically request white buttercream on the exterior, but Amanda read my mind. We brought them flowers from our florist and she arranged it beautifully on the cake. Plus, they returned the excess flowers with the cake delivery, and we got to use it as additional decor for our cake table.

I only had a chance to taste our wedding cake during the cake cutting. It was delicious and moist. The flavour was consistent with our cupcake tasting from the Richmond Hill location. The Swiss Meringue buttercream was not exceesively sweet. When I went back to try to get another piece, all three cakes were gone!

Delivery of the cakes to our venue (The Manor) was on time, and there were no issues as far as I'm aware.

We couldn't save a cake tier, but we will definitely order it again for our our 1 year anniversary!! Thank you Amanda and...

I've been here a couple of times and have had their squares and bought a cupcake for a friend. My friend had their cupcake before but for me, it kind of looks dry. The squares though, are AMAZING. A bit on the pricy side but they're quite big and dense. Brownie cheesecake is my fav, while the berry one is pretty good too.

Only thing is that they should work on their customer service. One of the times I went, one of the ladies working there (not the owner) seemed quite irritated that I was having a difficult time deciding what I wanted. I got a cupcake and said it's for a friend's birthday and requested for some sprinkles on top of the icing. She threw it on the cupcake quite roughly and again, seemed annoyed. I can't remember what exactly happened after but it's just the impression that was left wasn't a great one but instead, left me feeling quite turned off. Maybe she was having a bad day? Compared to a nearby bakery who have amazing customer service and always leave you with a smile on your face, they definitely have some work to do. It wasn't even busy in the store.

Next time I'm aiming to try their mini cakes they make for Fridays...

THE BEST CHOCOLATE CAKE I HAVE EVER HAD!!! I had ordered a cute cake for my daughters 15th “Quinceañera” at another local bakery......when we went to pick up the cake, to our huge disappointment, we realized the cake was not made to our specifications. I refused to accept the cake and thus began my mission to find a bakery to make me a cake for my daughters special day. I was denied by so many places as special orders must be done in advance......and then I found Gingers Cup Cakes. She was on it right away, emailing me photos of what she could have ready. The cake was stunning, with real roses on top. Most importantly, the chocolate cake was incredibly delicious. The best chocolate cake I’ve ever had. Thank you so much for saving the day. You made things happen for us with your incredible service. Thank you thank you thank you! Oh! And if you ever need help getting rid of that harvest table, I’ll take...
