I wanted to tell you all to beware of the owner/manager at the Guac Mexi Grill Aurora location. I’ve been a regular customer for over a year, always been polite and friendly. The other day, I got yelled at by the dude behind the counter for being on my phone. For some context, I had walked in and was speaking to my friend about what we should order, so I took a few seconds to browse the menus. Mind you, the whole time I made sure to stay at the front of the line, and when I was ready to order, I had stopped talking on the phone and walked over to the ordering end of the line. The owner/manager (not sure which one but it’s the South Asian guy who is always there) decided to ignore me by looking away on purpose for a good minute or so. When he finally looked at me, he didn’t even greet me and in a very hostile manner asked me what I wanted. He then proceeded to slam the taco container on the counter after I ordered and that’s when I decided I didn’t want to spend my money on this place. When I told him this and started to walk away, he basically verbally assaulted me, and even more so when I called him out for hiding the utensils. If you ever step into this location, you’ll notice that they never put the utensils where they’re supposed to be. I assume he’s extremely cheap, given that he’s charged me 25 cents per LINE of sauce before which is outrageous on its own. By the time I was in my car, I could see him pointing aggressively at me and throwing a fit in the back room. It’s crazy how one can get away with treating their customers like this. Not to mention, he always acts like he’s doing you a favour by serving you. Unfortunately, his poor attitude has always been evident, however, this was the last straw. I will NEVER return to this location. Please save yourself the money and trouble and go to Bradford or Stouffville instead where the staff are professional...
Read moreTried Guac Mexi Grill Aurora for the first time today and it did not disappoint! Everything tasted so fresh and the portions were generous. We had the enchilada, nachos, chicken taco bowl, and steak quesadillas. They were all so delicious and filled with lots of meat and veggies. The taco bowl was crunchy even with takeout. The sauces were really flavourful and the hot sauces are really spicy (to my husband's delight). There was some miscommunication with our online order and they couldn't see that I had requested hot sauce to be put on the side of the quesadillas...because they were meant for my kids, I called them back and told them the quesadillas were too spicy. They graciously offered to make us a new meal at no cost and when my husband went to pick them up, they even included two complimentary churros. This was so kind of them and we really appreciated the good customer service. We really like their food, even moreso than the other burrito places we have tried in Aurora....
Read moreThe food is always good and I've never had a bad meal from this location, and I've been somewhat of a regular since they opened. Lately, I've been noticing extra charges on my receipt for things like "extra small sour cream" (I had asked for extra cilantro lime on my bowl - was that it? I certainly did not receive a side of sour cream) and when I ask for 2 salsas - medium + mango salsa, have noticed an extra charge for a small salsa/salad. Maybe I'm not reading a sign they have posted somewhere but shouldn't extra charges be disclosed beforehand? This feels shady, especially when other similar restaurants don't charge you for these things. You might want to reconsider coming here...
