As per my previous review for another restaurant, saw this cafe in the same plaza so we went to try this place for brunch the next day. The place has a nice rustic feel to it and looks like this place has been here for quite a while. The owner is very kind and nice and I want to support this place.

We ordered 4 take out items (Sat morning):

Soup of the day - Cauliflower soup. It has strong cauliflower taste in the soup and the soup taste quite natural and creamy! I liked this

Chicken meat pie - it comes with a salad and the dressing tasted like the Japanese salad dressing you sometime may yourself familiar with, it’s a good thing! Yummy! In terms of the pie, it’s an average quality. I dont know if the pie is home made or bought, the pie crust is quite good and flakey but the chicken is abit dry. Also, the pie is warm on the outside but the middle is very cold (borderline to fridge cold) which feels like it wasn’t warm long enough. Despite all that, the pie is still acceptable.

Smoke salmon bagel - the portion is generous with lots of avocado! The bagel is quite crunchy on the outside but very soft inside! Goes quite well with the cream cheese and the smoke salmon and the avo! I liked it!

4 cappuccino - to be honest, I wouldn’t say this is a good cup but if u r not picky about coffee, it’s an ok cup of coffee but nothing more. I think the choice of coffee bean is what saved this cup of coffee as it gives some nice nutty coffee flavor and aroma. We ordered with oak milk but the oat milk is not foamy and actually feel quite watery. Well you get some big bubble foam on top of the cup but coffee under those big foam, it’s very watery and not creamy as I would expect. Also, I cannot taste any oat milk at all.

Price wise is not too expensive, all these items together total to about $45 include tax and everything.

All in all, I do like the soup, the side salad, and the salmon bagel… considering the good price, I would give it a borderline 4 stars. I would...

I came in to get some work done and have a coffee but the owner (he looked like the owner but can’t verify for sure, he was the only one working on a Friday morning) basically kicked me out of the cafe because I wanted to sit at a table away from the large window that was creating glare on my laptop. This was after I ordered and paid for my food. He said that table is only for larger groups (group of 4) and I was only one person. I tried to say that I could sit for just 10 mins and if a large group arrived I’d be happy to move but he said no. He suggested I sit at another table for 1 right next to the window I was trying to avoid. I explained why that didn’t work for me but he didn’t care one bit. So I was basically kicked out of the cafe that I was excited to try, as a paying customer (and I even complimented the owner on this quaint little cafe when I was ordering, I was being very courteous). I did not make a scene as I was leaving but I was definitely very upset to be treated in such a way. This is not customer service and it is not a way to win the business of a new client. Highly disappointed and would not...

I drove out to visit this cafe and spend the morning there to have coffee, eat a snack, and get some work done. I immediately felt unwelcome as the worker told me I was not allowed to sit at a four person table. He insisted that I sit at a two person table in the middle of the cafe (away from any power outlet). Also, I was about to order a date square when the worker said "you are not allowed to have an outside drink in here. Don't worry about buying the date square." I would have put my tea in the car or finished it quickly, but after having been met with such coldness I decided to leave. I calmly told the worker I was offended and he became defensive. I told him I would never return to this cafe because of the terrible customer service and he did not seem to care.

I felt very disrespected in an establishment where I intended to give my time, money, and potentially even good review.

The cafe had a strange scent, the food looked unhygienically presented, and the tables, chairs, and couches looked dingy and dirty.

I never leave reviews like this. Think twice about...

This beautiful little cafe is every bit as charming and comfortable as you could hope it would be. The ambiance of this place is what most cafes strive but fail to achieve. I am honestly blown away by the sheer amount of food options for such a small place run by one person. And the coffee selection is phenomenal. I do not like coffee and possibly it is because I have never had a good cup until now. However, I often order the dark brew and drink it black simply because of how good it is. Not bitter at all. Just rich and soothing. It pairs so well with one of his warm muffins. I highly recommend stopping by if you are ever in this neck of the woods or live in the neighborhood. I promise it’ll be your new favourite spot in Aurora.

When I walked into On The Bean, it felt like stepping into my own version of Central Perk from *Friends*. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the owner was incredibly welcoming, making me feel right at home. The coffee? Absolutely amazing! I ended up spending the entire afternoon catching up with a friend, completely losing track of time. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, chat, and just enjoy the moment. If you're looking for a warm, laid-back spot with great coffee, On The Bean is it!
