After a steady slow path of decline, "Aurora Grill Gate" hit a new level of low early this week! Now, the whole food chain of Grill Gate is crossed off from our Persian Fast Food Go-to-places forever! We've been a customer since Day 1 this branch has opened up and we were thrilled that we wouldn't need to commute to South branches like Richmond Hill, but at the same time we've been the audience of path of decline in what customer cares for and increase in what the business want! But we're not surprised as this is the norm with the majority of Persian businesses here or back home. We've already been hesitant about this business for the last 18 months, reduced our purchases, but decided to give it a couple more tries past few weeks. Also, you're aware that we the consumers all are suffering from a Post-Lockdown effect of COVID19, with some businesses still continue asking for Tip for Takeouts; Aurora Grill Gate has been very steady on this task!! That never have changed like other businesses when often with the change of cashier sometimes you get a break, no! They have been very persistent about this specific policy, which I wish they've been about customers' care as well. Finally, within the last year, we've decided to skip the tip requests as there were no services for takeout foods, and if the business suffers from inflation, so do we!! Anyhow, on Monday, the weirdest thing has happened (as you can see in two attached pictures) and I got charged extra despite picking "Skip" on the screen asking for usual Tips (15%, 18%, 20%, Custom or Skip)!! At first, I thought there's no way, I must be wrong!! But when I've checked my credit card, there it is! They've managed to round up the Food charge (including HST); why not!! Customer doesn't wanna pay tips? No worries, let's take it anyway!! And fun part is, if I would have thought that I've pressed the wrong button on the screen, there would have been no way that I could end up with straight $40.00 charge on my credit card, there should be always a change by tipping on top of $37.82, I don't need to be a math genius to get that!! Believe me, I won't get richer or poorer by $2.18, but the idea of being ripped off like this and the business thinks this way they can get compensated and customers won't mind, makes me sick! If we can't trust our local small business, who I can trust then?!! I am extremely disappointed, especially as a Persian, and I strongly warn you to compare your paid amount vs. your bill if you...
Read moreFood quality was not bad if I wanna explain it further, I just give it below medium quality, Although Customer service is super slow, unorganized, and horrible and way way out of North America style! Such a rude owner and also disgusting manner as everyone can see on their respond! Nobody accept this kind of respond in Canada, so behave yourself and believe or not you will drop your business for any more act or treading respond as I captured all your respond from beginning! Another issue comes up with music and atmosphere which was super load and annoying! Live music was basic and not really satisfying at all! it was overall way less quality than another branch if I compare it! It seems unprofessional management just striving to handle that business and it’s obviously clear on my review response and this kind of customer service behavior shows how poor and low quality management work on that location! Anyway I don’t recommend to visit this location! Btw, there is no tolerate for your threat and low level respond, so I will act by law if something happens to me just in case and the owner of this branch would be in charge! Wish I couldn’t add even one star and gave them zero as everyone be able see the true face of one of low level management and customer service respond in...
Read moreWas looking forward to ordering; called to ask if the meat was halal- was told yes except for bacon.
When I inquired further as to where the halal meat is sourced from; I was told it’s “from Costco”; which is not an accurate or adequate answer for the question asked. So, I asked what the label stated for supplier and was - I was told “I don’t tell you”. I thought maybe there was a language barrier so I clarified; “you don’t know or you don’t want to tell me?” And I was giving a firm “no- I don’t want to tell you” despite pressing twice. Too bad; all you had to do is confirm where it came from- I’ve never had this issue from other establishments that cater to halal meat consumers - they are typically quick and courteous to clarify the supplier of their halal meat.
In response to the business answer to t he review- it was not clarified that the restaurant is not halal- it was simply stated in clear terms after asking for clarification - that your establishment serves halal meat and that I would not be told where it came from. You could always clarify here in your response as well...
