Runway 29 Restaurant Bar Pub — Restaurant in Avenue District

I have been here a few times now, one of the clubs that I belong to seems to just love this place. The service here has always been phenomenal. The wait staff is very friendly and will go that extra mile for your table.

That being said, the food is just okay. It is rather pricey for the quality that you are getting. You can see by the menu that they are trying to be innovative, but the delivery is lacking. If it wasn't for the friendly service, I don't know that I would go back.

No local craft beer on tap. Very limited selection for beer drinkers.

This pub used to have a beautiful view of Runway 29, which is where it got its name. I don't know what the future brings for their view, but for now it's pretty fantastic. The pub is located above the Tim Horton's across from Kingsway Mall.

If you are ever in the area you have to try this place. The wife and i went in for a quick bite to eat and Christine, the waitress was super special. She suggested the nachos were on sale so i ordered them and a salad for us to split. It was my fault not to check the nachos had olives because i am allergic to them. When they came out Christine saw my reaction and questioned. I admitted it was my fault i did not ask for the olives to be removed. She said "no problem" and took them back and brought me a new plate of nachos without olives. Way to go above and beyond Christine! She also asked to mention Michelle because it was busy when we were there and the food quality was awesome and it came out fast. Thanks girls. Lost hundreds of dollars on the VLTS lol but it was still a blast. Hidden gem forsure. very beautiful we found it by mistake and it's really nice, all dim lit black setting and the VLTS have a nice little room of their own. 5 or 6 vlts and a sitting area in that with 3 tables and lots of chairs surrounded by glass windows that look at kingsway mall. The restaurant area is big with tons of tables a fireplace I believe. Lots of parking. Nice staff. Not cheap pricing but not crazy expensive like steak sandwiches type deal. Like a higher class brew pub where no one judges lol they have a happy hour but it's only drinks and i only inquired about the high balls which were 5$ i believe and I'm not positive the times of the happy hour.
